...the rubber buttons from the original tamagotchi's? As weird as it sounds i love the velvety touch of the rubber buttons from the original release. When i opened my tamagotchi friends, i was disappointed that they were now plastic. but i said the P's probably has the rubber buttons cause it should be better quality right? but i was sad when i opened the package and found the P too did have the plastic buttons. (the center button is also not very sensitive and its hard to play games and stuff with it.) SOOOO I was just curious to see if anyone else missed that feeling too? i know its silly.

No.

In fact, I really don't like the texture. Half the time they stick to my fingers, half the time they feel like they are covered in mucus, like frog skin. It varies depending on the temperature and humidity.

I didn't dislike the rubber buttons on the original, but I haven't experienced any issues with the plastic buttons so far. It's been pretty much the same to me. I'm sorry you aren't happy with the change, but I hope you can adapt to it and it doesn't interfere with your experience.

I don't mind the change except I find the center button on my P isn't as responsive. I have to press down hard and it messes me up on games and stuff.

I don't quite mind, I like rubber and plastic buttons! :) I like it better that the "bigger" Tamas (iD L, Friends, TamaGo, etc.) to have plastic buttons, and the "smaller" ones (v4, P1, Angel, etc.) have rubber buttons. That way we get to feel both :D

I like both button type. I think I like the plastic ones better, besides the possible iffyness of the tamagotchi friends...makes games harder since less responcive.

I was literally thinking of this when I woke up this morning! I fidget with things in my hands a lot, and on the smaller tamas I'd always play with the little buttons under my nails and such...weird I know...Plus I felt like they were much more responsive in game play. BUT I agree the plastic is much more durable on the larger units. I can't imagine them with big silicone buttons LOL. I only ever had one pet lose a button and it wasn't a Tamagotchi, it was a Nano Double the second gen version.

I'm glad I'm not crazy! Lol I fidget a lot too and liked to poke or pick at it with my nail as well. Lol but I can agree the plastic probably is more durable. :3

The first Tamagotchi I got with plastic buttons was my idL, and the buttons were SO UNRESPONSIVE when playing the games that I was worried it was defective or something.

I have little tiny mini fingers and I have to press the plastic buttons on my P's, iDL, and TF pretty hard for them to work consistently. I'm thinking to myself, how can little kids use these without getting super frustrated? XD

That is just like me! My mom said I have done it ever since I was a baby..it started with tags. Shed find me rubbing those silky tags in between my fingers and on my lips. Hilarious. Now I keep things at my desk at work and I fidget around while on the phone or working on projects haha. I have to make a serious effort to not pop off or tear the buttons on remote controls too! I used to like slice them off without even realizing it! My nails would cut them right off lol.

I actually kind of DO miss the rubber buttons! What's with all of these plastic ones?

I do miss buttons that were in different colors and not just always white...

I think I like the plastic better. The rubber ones are so small and made it really hard to play games in which you needed to have your fingers on two buttons. I don't dislike the rubber ones though. :)

I like both button types. The rubber ones are nice and squishy to press but you have to remember they get damaged very easily. Some of my second-hand Tamagotchis have chunks of rubber missing from the buttons as if they were chewed by a dog or something.

OH DEAR GOODNESS YES. I have this weird compulsion where I have to touch soft stuff, and rubber is one of my favorite materials. The soles of new shoes, pencil erasers, pen grips, rubber Tamagotchi buttons, the rubber grip of my crochet hook... I know it's weird, but I think it's a comfort thing. One of my coworkers is the same, only she's compulsive about touching specifically feathery things like boas and knitted things (knitted with that really fluffy, hot sort of material). She has even spproached people just to ask if she could touch their sweaters and scarves haha! Thank goodness I'm not that bad, but every now and then I enjoy holding my P1 and just rubbing my thumb over the rubber buttons...

I also miss them, they were so easy to press. Well, except for one v4 whose A-button occasionally got stuck down and wasn't that obnoxious.

Anyways, I still like both button types, but I guess I like the rubber ones better - especially when it's easier to play games with the rubber buttons. u v u
