I just hatched a new Tama yesterday. I haven't had a Tamagotchi in ages (like since my V3s ran out of batteries, although I seem to remember having another one... can't remember what it was, other than big and required attachments to play different games or something like that?), but I was out and saw the Dream Town Friends ones, and I had to buy it.

So, I'm currently on Gen 1!

I hatched a Pinkbotchi from the egg with the heart on it, and as a child she was Terupotchi. A few hours ago she grew up into Neotchi, and her current skill is in culinary classes. Although you can't officially name them anymore, apparently, I've unofficially named her Maria.

I hope Maria likes tennis, because we've played a lot of it, haha.

I did some digging today to see if I could find my old Tamas. I still can't find the one I mentioned before -- which I figured out was a V7 -- but I think I found all my others! I'm thinking of getting batteries for one V3 and one V4 tomorrow, depending how much they cost. What I found was two original Tamagotchi, 4 V3s, 2 V4s, and then a bunch of non-Tama virtual pets -- 1 LPS one, 2 original Giga Pets, 1 re-release Giga Pet, 1 Neopets one, 1 Nano Baby, and 1 Digi Pet. Wow. It's hard to believe I once ran almost all of those at the same time! But that was back in like '06.

Anyway, Maria grew up today! She became a Patitchi, which I'm really happy about. I'd been playing the chef game a lot because I heard that's what she would grow up into if I gave her that personality, but actually, my favorite is the performance game.

I'm having an odd problem in which, despite her being an adult, it still says she's 0 years old. I have a pretty good guess why -- my sleep schedule does not entail going to bed at 9pm, so I've pretty much been messing with her clock so that she goes to bed when I do, and then wakes up when I do. I'll have to have her sleep when I'm working, too... But I know that if she stays at 0 years, she's never going to be able to get married! And as much as I love her, raising different ones is part of the fun.

So, I got some new batteries as planned! I actually have a picture of my three tama together, but I'll have to upload that later today.

I hatched a V4, who I named Clare (but which is short for Claire, which is what I'll call her here, lol) last night. I sort of forgot how to really take care of them having not done so in so many years, and in my excitement I forgot how close of attention you need to pay to the babies and hatched her right before dinner... oops. Though actually, Maria and my V3 baby (more on her later) were very low maintenance... Claire felt really high maintenance. She ended up becoming a Mohitamatchi, which, since that's in the Kuchi family, I'm guessing means she was overweight...? I mean, by 1 or 2 pounds since I played with her whenever I could -- I forgot that that extra pound or two is potentially actually relevant. I'm not that great with the jump rope game. But the only thing I'm worse at than that is the Mimic game... At some point in the future I'll look up one of the instruction manuals or something and figure out what I'm supposed to be doing. But she's a sweetheart -- oh, and she got her backpack this morning! Which was adorable. She's also been kind of worryingly low maintenance: she hasn't asked me to discipline or praise her so far (although to be fair, it's only been like an hour).

I also hatched a V3. Actually, I got a battery for my sister's old Tamagotchi (also a V3) too and we hatched them together. She had a boy and named him Charo, short for Charmander apparently, haha. I had a girl and named her Rose, which is short for Rosalia. She's actually still a baby right now, so we'll see. It's been interesting balancing her with Claire (a child) and reminding my sister how to do things... I really like the GET ♪ game! Anyway, she's been really low maintenance by comparison to Claire, though I think it's about the same as Maria, haha. Oh, since they were hatched together I've decided she and Charmander are siblings.

Update: Rosalia just grew up into an Ichigotchi!!! I'm so happy. ^-^ I haven't tried Bump yet, so more on that tomorrow, probably.

Update 2: Charmander also grew into Ichigotchi. I guess they really are siblings, haha!

Anyway, I have one more battery to decide what to do with. I'll see how it goes with these three and then, when Claire and Rosalia have grown up and begun the second generation, I'll decide whether I have time to take care of a fourth Tamagotchi. I also would have to pick which Tama to give the new battery to, though. I was considering the V1 since there's something rather special about having the original, but then I thought it'd be cool if I used another V3 or my other V4 since I can connect those ones. (Too bad I can't connect Maria though.) I just have to decide which. The games will definitely be a factor, but I can't decide on that until after I've had them both grow into adults. But the other factor will be the characters, of course.

You know, the other night I was thinking about what to name Maria's child when she has one -- I've decided Alyssa for a girl, Joshua for a boy. But now that she's four years old, I suddenly can't believe how fast she's growing up, and I can't believe that she's really gonna grow up (and have a baby) and leave. ; A; But I won't hold her back. (Okay... maybe by a day or two, lol.)

I'm really hoping that Maria will have a girl, though. But I want Claire, Rosalia, or both to have a boy. Not that I really have any say in the matter.

Well, it turns out I wasn't quite right about Rosalia and Charmander being Ichigotchi -- they were Mizutamatchi. I actually realized this because guess who did turn into an Ichigotchi? Claire did~! She's adorable, and I can't wait to see what adult she'll become. I think she grows up tomorrow? For Maria it was only one day, but I seem to remember it being two for the V3 and V4s. Maybe partly because of the discipline system. Anyways, we tried out the dance game, which I like okay -- it's fun, but a little strict in my opinion. I've gotten better at jump rope, but if I remember correctly I'm going to have to think about the skill points if I end up trying for certain Tamas. Right now, though, I'm not trying for anything in particular. I just want happy and healthy Tamas and we'll see how it works out, although I hope I'll get a variety.

Rosalia became a teenager this morning, and she's a Young Mametchi. I haven't tried the new games yet though. But anyway, she's doing well. Low maintenance as usual, which is cute but makes me worry about her discipline meter. Claire called for praise/scolding a few times last night, though, so maybe she'll be just around the corner. Oh!! I haven't had them meet yet!! Oh, also, Charmander became Nikatchi. They actually have yet to actually meet, though... and actually, they won't be able to until Friday. Oh well, I guess.

Maria's officially old enough for the dating place already... but what's the rush, right? haha... Maybe it was a good thing the older generations didn't give me the chance to cling to the same Tama after they'd reached adulthood... since those ones have a lifespan. But I've heard that with the Friends ones, you can keep them as long as you want... And I really want to keep Maria. Oh!! Come to think of it, I may get a new one this weekend. My sister also wants a Dream Town Friends, so... And I was having so much trouble deciding between the pink lace shell and the blue flower shell, so why not both. :p If I did that, I'd call the new Tama Tomoe (girl) or Hank (boy), and they would be best friends with Maria. When Tomoe/Hank grew up I'd have them have a baby at 5 years or so, and since they were such good friends, of course Maria would return to the home planet with them. (I view it as leaving when they have a child is legitimately returning to their home planet and "leaving" due to neglect is dying.)

Whoops, looks like I've been MIA here for a few days... @_@ Just means some catching up to do, yeah? :D Everyone's grown up a bit more.

Claire became a Ponytchi. Tomorrow she should be old enough for the matchmaker to come, for which I'm excited, but that's dependent upon it not caring that the years counter is having some issues with... not actually counting, thanks to my method of "pausing" it by changing the system clock all the time.

Rosalia became a Mametchi. Um... not to sound like a horrible parent, but for the sake of variety, I wish I knew how to get something other than Mametchi/Mimitchi every generation... I mean, according to the chart I found there's more than just those two for excellent care, but for some reason that's all I get. --Backing up that story so as not to sound totally weird considering she's on Gen 1, I'm talking in part about back in '06. It was always a Mametchi or Mimitchi. I guess I really like the personality systems for giving more variety even with the exact same levels of care; I know I'd get different characters if I neglected them a little, but I just can't bring myself to intentionally neglect them.

I caved yesterday and had Maria go to the Dating Place. I'm not sure who she married, because honestly the background makes it really hard for me to see what else is going on, on the screen. Anyway, I was really shocked and disappointed because... well, on the Tamagotchi Connections, the parent would stay until that night or the next night or something. Maria left maybe an hour, no more than three hours I'm pretty sure, after the baby was born! I wasn't ready to say goodbye yet! Then again, neither was the baby, so I suppose we bonded over that a little............

Anyways, Maria had a son. I decided to throw the intragenerational theme naming out the window, since it really, really only worked if she had had a daughter. So I named him Gabe. c: He's currently a Cosmotchi. I think I'm gonna have him be interested in robots. Which I know sounds kind of strange since I was just commenting about not wanting anymore Mametchi on my V3, but that's different: I'm deciding it in this instance, and it's based on the character named Gabe who he's named after. (Oops, I think I forgot to mention actually, but my theme naming for all my current Tama is naming them after characters from a particular game I really love.)

Last night there was an incident, actually, that makes me really surprised Rosalia became a Mametchi this morning. I feel horrible about this: I fell asleep on accident; Claire nearly died, and Rosalia wasn't doing so great either. Thankfully Gabe, a Mitsumarutchi at the time, had actually gone to bed shortly before that happened. I woke up to Rosalia calling for my attention as she had just gone to bed and needed the lights turned out. Rose, who has always been the lower maintenance of the two, was only missing a couple hearts for hunger and happiness, though she also had a poop next to her that hadn't been cleaned. She wasn't sick though. Claire, on the other hand... sick, a poop, and completely empty hearts for both hunger and happiness. Thank goodness I woke up when I did. I took care of her needs and then Rosalia's (after changing the clock to wake her up), and both ended up being okay.

In other news, I'm not going to be reactivating another V3/V4 as it turns out. I finally managed to get my hands on a Pokewalker (the pedometer accessory for Pokemon SoulSilver) today, which is in perfect condition, except for the fact that the battery was dead. But it also runs off the CR-2032 batteries, so I used that fourth battery for my Pokewalker. I named my starter Pokemon after Maria as well, which somehow brings her sudden leaving full-circle in some way.

Anyway, assuming it does happen, I'm really excited for Claire to see the matchmaker. I mean, I love her, but I don't have the same struggle letting her go as I did with Maria. Nope, that was exclusive to Maria. Of course, what I'm really excited for isn't the matchmaker herself but rather Claire having a baby~! I think I'll name it either RONI (girl) or Hanzou (boy), but that's definitely subject to change.
