tama p's personality help?

My terubotchi grew up to be Nokobotchi last night, and I'd like for her to become a Kiraritchi, however when I use personality items and go to the menu screen the personality changes to something random every time I visit it. Sometimes it doesn't even change to the personality type item/food I used first.

How do I get my tama's personality to stay as one trait? Or if this is supposed to happen, how should I go about removing a trait from her? She's currently teetering between strength, charisma, style and the writing icons...

Ah, how she's been teetering through every trait. Is there a way to get rid of traits, or will using personality items help with getting rid of them? I've been using the clapperboard and sewing machine but nothing has really been working...
