Problem transferring files to tamagotchi P's using IR usb

I got myself a tamagotchi p's recently from amazon, and also got an IrDA usb adapter so I could transfer files to the p's.

I know how to transfer files to the p's, I just can't get it to work. I have a macbook air so I tried using both my friend's and my boyfriend's PC laptops. For both computers, everything worked up until the actual sending of the file from the computer to the tamagotchi. Progress would get to 98% before failing because the tamagotchi would stop connecting too soon. I tried many times but never would the transfer get further than 98% (sometimes it would be less, like 82%).

Another thing to note is that when connecting the tamagotchi p's to the ir usb, I am actually using the first option available for connecting to an iDL. The third connection option ("download") was never recognized by the ir usb any of the many times I tried.

Hi, these two links might help with troubleshooting the problem. There was some mention about the connection freezing through the transfer process and how to get around it. Although the connection is with the iD L, it should apply to the P's too...

i'm trying to get an irda USB myself too but i own a macbook and windows 10... and most USB shows they are only compatible with XP/7/8... anyone tried with win 10 and/or macbook and it works?
