Booted up my old V5 Tamagotchi a few days ago and I have just attempted to connect it to another Tamagotchi. When I click on the connection icon and then 'V5' and 'Game' it goes to standby as normal, but if I click the B button to start the connection going, it makes a long beep noise and sends me to the 'download' and 'reset' screen as if I have just inserted a new battery.

Is this a common issue? I can't recall having this problem in the past!

Hello,

yeah,I have the same problem and I don´t know why.

My Tamagotchi version 5 makes this "beep"-noise and then it shows this screen.

Even when it´s just there on the table while I´m not playing with it.

I wonder whether it it because of the batteries. Maybe because we didn´t put out the batteries?

Well currently there isn´t that problem anymore with my Tama. I don´t know why but I hope it doesn´t have this error anymore...So Many Tama-Generations are deleted because of this error :(

May I ask with which Tamagotchi you tried o connect your Version 5? :)

I think yours is somewhat glitchy. Many V5s have this problem, depending on its battery power. Mine did this a lot because its batteries were dying. Like the screen would blink dim and bright a lot because of it, and the connection part of it makes the letters go into a fade-ish color, and then reset on me. I think it's because of the battery in your Tamagotchi. Is it a trusted brand? If not, then off-brand batteries would run out quicker.

I would also suggest trying new (and better) batteries.

I've heard it's because of low battery, but it's infuriating because I changed the battery and lost everything!

Seems the download and reset options don't actually appear when they're needed :(

Yeah it´s really weird..

Somehow,it worked for a while after changing the batteries but well, after that it happened again.

But thanks god it haven´t deleted itself yet, just the "Download" and "Reset" screen appeared.

Some of my v5s do the same thing. And you guys are right-- new and brand-name batteries work--for a time. Connection takes a lot of battery power, so the new battery will get low quickly. I try to connect v5 to v5 exclusively, not to other versions. And it dosen't help that the v5 is nearly 10 years old. V5.5s do the same thing I've noticed, and my v5.5 royal beach lost everything just the other day when I tried to connect to another v5.5. Frustrating, to say the least.

Yeah, like everyone else said, it's a common problem on the V5. Mine does the same thing. The V5's are really buggy for some reason.

Mine do this too, always when the batteries are running low and then it works fine with new batteries. Might depend on the type of batteries used to (ie: the brand of battery and whether they're cheap ones or not)
