Hey guys!

Im in need of some help!

I am wanting to buy a Version1 online but all I can seem to find is these darn 1997 ones:

What I am looking for is this:

Is there a different name for the 2nd option? I want one that is able to connect with V2 but all I am seeming to find is the original!

Please help me out a little on the differences between the 2.. and if anyone has comparison boxes I would love to see!

That orange tamagotchi is a Version 1 Connection from 2004. Connections have a red infrared port across the top of the toy, a keyring on the right hand side of the toy (vs. centre on the vintage tamagotchis, like the purple one you have pictured) and are more circular than the vintages. Searching for Tamagotchi Connection V1 should yield the results you are looking for, although there aren't always many online.

Hope this helps - let us know if you have more questions or need clarification :)

Oh? So youre saying it is more likely that i would be finding the 1997 ones as opposed to the 2004 ones?

Do you know what the 2004 packaging looks like at all?

Packaging of both the Connection era and Vintage era Tamagotchis varies considerably. The key thing to look for is the infrared port up top the toy, and if you are looking for a brand new V1 (hard to find), a package that says "Connection" on it.

Darn.. the brand new V1 Connection is what I am after -_-
There is nothing a brand new V1 can offer over a used V1, except maybe the instructions manual which can be found online and printed. Some Tamagotchis including the V1 are becoming harder and harder to find new in box, and I would encourage you to try find a second hand one or you will be paying a lot more money for something that will be opened anyway.

There's a group on Facebook called Tamagotchi Traders or something along those lines. You can try posting there to look for a V1 - you might have better luck than online stores.
