I could not find anything exactly like this one on Project TamaShell, and do not know of any other websites I could use.

Also, is there a way to pause it other than removing the battery?

i'm pretty sure it's a fake. some reasons are:

  • paint is quite cheaply applied
  • decal isn't centered
  • ABC labels are usually never on a tamagotchi
  • lower density screen (pixels are larger)
  • lighter IR cap
  • overall low quality control

is this a tamagotchi you own? or one you plan on buying?

All of my thoughts exactly. Plus, you can check the IR if it works, or at least responds, to another active IR. The batteries of the connection series is one circular, flat sided, battery. LR32, I think. If it's not that, then it's definitely not a real tamagotchi, but I already am convinced it isn't.

I thought the batteries were CR2032. At least that's what my V1 and V6 need.

Yep, battery is CR2032, and it only takes one. This looks superficially like my light blue v1, but like has already been said, the quality is poor, the background isn't quite right, and the letters on the buttons, as well as pixel resolution. This looks like a JD fake.

I don't mean to be rude, but I am pretty sure that's a fake.

  • Authentic Tamagotchi's NEVER have A B and C written on them
  • The pixels seem very big
  • Also, it looks quite poorly made and quite cheap too
  •  :D I hope I helped you! :D
