Are you still sad/upset that tamatown is gone?

I kinda do miss the tamatown stuff but if they were gonna make their toys interact with websites at least make them downloadable if they were gonna shut them down, had binary not made the entama warehouse would you guys have been upset that japan closed down the sites and you couldn't get the certain items that was within the towns? Sure we did lose the US and Europe tamatowns but they really didn't have much exclusive content aside from souvenirs which honestly didn't really do much for the tamas. I know there is a V6 generator floating around somewhere so that's good.

Not particularly, to be honest. Services going offline is part of life these days, and even back then I didn't care too much about the web games. I've never been particularly driven to 100% a Tamagotchi, I'm always more interested in caring for it and watching it grow than any of the side stuff.

The whole Tamatown thing was not that great. It looked so girly and childish, and the fact that you can only use specific phrases to chat (for obvious reasons) maked everything worse.

I found TamaTown was a quick way to get money when you played the flying disc game and I'd just kinda farm that. It's more upsetting as it was such a strong nostalgic thing to me and taken away, also without any discussion (I know Bandai wouldn't contact everyone who had used it ever to see if they minded closing it down but like you know what I mean) But even the little things like how when you would go to either the mall or game center etc it would slowly and painfully zoom in, how most times sometimes the little bus ride loading screen seemed as though you traveled to the other side of the world, like... it took ages. And the first screen when you enter, looking over the town and it had little moving characters. AND THE MUSIC like woaw, to this day it is my jam and it will make memories come flooding back and then I always think of the noise when you win something or found some trash like the brochure and the noise made it like 'OMG WOAH LOOK WHAT YOU FOUND how interesting oooOOOo." But like it was the most insignificant thing and after that first time you ever clicked on that brochure you never did again because you remembered how it was so pointless and it waisted those 2 seconds of your precious life but I love that.

Honestly if they said that they'd only bring it back if people would pay then I would be the first person to get a membership like hands down.

But yeah, I've used the entama warehouse and it's handy but it doesn't feel the same. I also never had the chance to use the V5, V6 and tama-go tamatown's as I didn't have those versions when they were up and from the sounds of it I missed out on the V6 apartment or whatever it is.

Edit: I don't like the TF one + I hope I'm not the only one who misses it but it feels that way atm.

I totally agree with you, just woah. I could not write that in a better way:)

I also don´t like the Tamagotchi Friends page..It even doesn´t have good games or something..and it looks reaaally girly..

We could keep TamaTown instead:(

Not really. I visited a few times, but wasn't really interested. I had more fun connecting two tamas, and let them interact instead.

Yes, I still miss TamaTown. Well, for the V6 and TamaGo, in particular. I didn't have any of the other tamas to connect to previous versions of TamaTown, but I really liked the apartments in Music City. It was fun to buy things or get special gifts to decorate them with; I'd always change up the decor for Christmas, summer time, etc. The music maker was also kind of cute and fun to play around with, at least a few times. I wish they would implement an updated version of that TamaTown although I know it would incur more of a cost to them. Maybe one day we'll get another like that if the brand makes a strong comeback.

As for the chat, I didn't mind it. They basically do it to keep kids safe, so no harm done. I wasn't interested in the chat function; I mostly just wanted to run around the town with my character and collect stuff to arrange in my apartment. :p

Since I haven't got a Tama Friends, I haven't bothered to check out the new game at this time.
