Best Hanerutchi?

I was reading about the Japan exclusive Tamagotchi releases and encountered the Hanerutchi. I immediately fell in love with the quirky designs and characters! I'm planning it to be my first Japanese Tamagotchi, but I'm not sure which version to get. For those who have both editions, which one do you prefer?

And one other question, but this is about one of the gimmicks. Apparently the Hanerutchi can connect to phones? Do they work with modern Iphones? I'm asking out of curiosity. ^_^

I don't have any of the Hanerutchis, but I know that the 1st version is based off of the Keitai / V3, and the 2nd is based off the Entama / V4. That might help you choose which version you want.

As for the phone connection feature, I don't think it will work with iPhones, because they don't support IR.

Do the Keitai and Entama play similarly to the American V3s and V4s? I don't know much about the Keitai or the Entama, I just know the names.

The Keitai is similar to the version 3 and the Entama is similar to the version 4. There are a bit of tweaks here and there but they're pretty much the same. If you prefer the version 3, then go for the first Hanerutchi. If you like the version 4 better, then get the second Hanerutchi.

Version 4 is my favorite among the two versions, so I'll check out the second Hanerutchi first if I can find a good deal. ^_^ Thanks!
