chillin' with my tamas
Hey! I just recieved my used Love and Melody land set today!

Like everyone else, I'd like to install the english patch. I have a "SYBA usb fast infrared adapter" that I am using to do so.

So, using the guide tamatamatchi put up, I've tried and tried again to do it, but everytime something goes wrong.

I am using a Windows Vista 64-bit and the usb says it works with that version. When I plug it in, it downloads the usb and then says that its "done and ready to use". However, when I go to my Computer folder thang, it doesn't show up alongside my flashdrives and what not. I've tried just simply connecting my P's with it, but no app pops up like it should and my P's just says that it failed to connect!

If you're able to help please do! :)

Are you sure your IR USB is for file transfer? Many USBs I see are sometimes for simply signal recieving; similar to a TV remote. Did your USB come with a driver? If so, go ahead and install that, then follow TamaTamatchi's guide.

I bought it off a link that tamatamatchi provided so it's expected to work...

This is the post:

I chose the one that says 11 dollars (it's now 13.99 but whatever).

Oh and nevermind the computer is actually Windows Vista 32-bit (even better so I've heard).

I think that USB should work, as long as it comes with a CD for installation. Windows Vista is quite finnicky though. If you have a Windows XP computer try installing the drivers on there, as XP has native IR support.

Good to hear! It did come with an itty bitty cd (how funny)! My mother's computer is XP. I'm at my dad's this weekend but Sunday night I'll be at my mom's house. Just wish my dads computer wasn't so finnicky, I'm so impatient lol. If anyone else has some advice, please share! :D

I got the same USB and I couldnt get it to work with the tamagotchi. After an entire day of frustration I gave up. I have an hp envy windows 10, It has no disc drive so I had to look online to install its software so maybe thats why it didnt work. But after some research It looks pretty rare to get the dang dongles to work :/

Hello, I'm new here. I joined because I want to buy a Tamagotchi P's and patch it to English.

I was planning to buy the same irda and am wondering if this will be compatible with my Windows 10 OS. Can anyone confirm that it works?

Thanks!

Windows 10 unfortunately does not support IR beaming. You can definitely try a VirtualBox though however!
