I am considering getting a 4U+ in the not too distant future. However, I was wondering do the interchangeable faceplates still fit the 4U+ or are they a 4U thing only? Furthermore, do they fit the Anniversary Pearl edition 4U+? Just both of those appear to have a heart gem stuck on the front, which I would imagine would prevent a faceplate from being put on?

Any information would be appreciated, thank you.

 
Faceplates can still be removed and swapped on the 4U and 4U+. They're still interchangeable as the 4U+ features the same shell. As for the Anniversary model, they are still swappable too. The faceplate of the anniversary model is exactly the same ad the original plates with the exception of the heart gem.
