Does the 2nd wave figurines work on the 1st wave Tama-go device?

 
Well, I don't have one, but judging based on how other electronics work... Yeah, they should.

 
how many gotchi figures are there altogether? Is it really that many? Cause on Amazon, from the manufacturer description: "Collect all 100 Tamatown Gotchi Character Figures."
