Advice on a new tamagotchi

I have seen a few topics like these, but I have been having trouble trying to pick my first tamagotchi. I don't have access to IR or NFC - and I am very interested int he m!x, I have to admit. My friend has decided to give me a tamagotchi as a gift, and I'm really excited, but I just can't pick one. I have a lot of free time right now, and I really miss having something to play with - so the fastest I could pick one, the better, since I really want a tamagotchi quickly... but I really would love some help to pick?

As I said, I have no access to IR or NFC, but I can understand basic japanese, somewhat. I have a lot of free time right now, so I can take care of the tamagotchi without issue. I love detailed things, and I want one that really will hook me - that I can really be invested in and raise for generations.

I'm sorry for adding another post to the list of posts that have the same topic, but I've been debating this with her for days already, and I thought it was about time I should ask help from people who know more about the subject.

For starters a music star or IDL would be good. I wouldn't recommend a P's, 4u, 4U+ or other complicated tamas. The tamagotchi friends is too boring, even thought the animations are good. Of I were you I'd get two IDLs, so I can connect them. Connecting tamagotchis make it so much more fun. When you're more experienced you might get the tamagotchi ps and gradually the tamagotchi 4u.

Depending on your price budget, I would recommend the Tamagotchi Connection version 2 and up. Tamagotchi Connections are about $15 on amazon, fairly cheap. Connection 2 and up introduces a shop in which you can buy items for your Tamagotchi and the cool thing is your Tamagotchi can actually use them. Connection 4 and 4.5 introduces preschool, school and work for your Tamagotchi to go to which is really neat. Connection also has the pause feature, stops the game, but does not stop the clock.
