Usually there is a corresponding symbolism between pokemom games. Such as black and white (yin and yang), x and y (life and death).

Is there anything like that for the latest Tamagotchi m!x. Melody and spacey? Or is it just random andnout of choice because it seemed "cute".

Its just cause of the 2 characters Melodytchi and Himespetchi, and you can only get one of them on each of the versions...

As the others have said, it's named after the two characters unique to each version (Melody Version has Meloditchi and Spacey Version has Himespetchi). This is true for previous Tamagotchi models too, such as Lovely Melody ver. iD (which allows you to raise Meloditchi, who is not available on the regular iD) or the Princess Spacey ver. iD L (which allows you to raise Himespetchi, who is not available on the regular iD L). There's also the Love & Melody ver. Deco Pierce for the P's (which, yep, you guessed it, allows you to raise Meloditchi, who is not otherwise available on the P's).

'Love/ly' versions seem to relate to Lovelitchi/Lovelin (same character, but the latter is her stage name); on the Lovely Melody ver. iD, Lovelin replaces Lovelitchi and Lovelitchi is another raiseable character on the Love & Melody ver. Deco Pierce.

Hope this helps! =)

Tamagotchi has never really had the same sort of gmae symbolism that pokemon is known for seeing as pokemon has always released two games together when they do a new generation (I miss the single game releases pokemon crystal and platinum and emerald come on best games ever but thats a tangent). Tamagotchi has released other versions of the same model but usually it's they are themed look at the princess spacy ID L as compared the the orginal or even the anniversary they have no real symbolism with each other they just have themes usually based around a character or tamagotchi's birthday party
