-The 5 most populous race groups on Gotchi Planet are Mames (Mame city), Gurugurus (Guruguru town), Patchis (Patchi's forest), Furuwas (Flower Hills) and Classicals (Tamatown). They have higher populations than the other groups.

-The secondary groups are Berries (Berry town), Ninjas (Gozaru village) and buildings (everywhere).

-There are several other minor groups.

-Surprisingly, instead of Mame City, Guruguru town designs and manufactures the best aircraft. The UFOS used by Tamagotchis to move from planet to planet were designed in Guruguru town in 1995.

-Likewise, Mame City's automobile industry is thriving.

-The reason so many Tamagotchi species in the classic 90's versions aren't present in the current versions? They were wiped out by a fungal plague.

-Papamametchi's father and mother were working at a hospital as a doctor and nurse respectively when the plague first hit, and watched their childhood friend Genjirotchi die from it. A few months after Papamametchi was born, his mother Mimitchi died from it.

-Furuwas were blamed for said plague, due to their immunity to it and their plantlike-natures.

-The professor and his assistant were both killed by the fungus while visiting the planet. With the Earth ambassadors dead because of a plague on Gotchi planet, the relationship between Tamagotchis and Humans iced. They cut ties with eachother.

-Luckily, peace was restored thanks to a young girl who visited the planet in 2007.

-Papakizatchi is of mixed race. His mother was a rich Guruguru, and his father was a poor Furuwa. They both died in a house fire when he was a teenager.

-Due to the plague, the other races began treating Furuwas terribly. When Mamavioletchi and Papakizatchi were children, nobody would play with them. How their families even managed to stay wealthy is a mystery.

-And, naturally, Papakizatchi had it even worse, due to his mixed origins. There are several jagged scars on his back, arms, shoulders and chest from attacks.

-In response to the racism, a gang of Furuwas formed, called the Azaleans. They wore dark green clothing and covered their faces with dust masks that had flowers crudely drawn on them with green marker. Some even wore gas masks that were painted green.

-The gang was originally formed to peacefully protect Furuwas, but they dulled to committing hate crimes themselves, especially against Gurugurus.

-Papakizatchi became a member of the gang after his parents died and he was forced to flee from a lynch mob.

-Though the racism has dulled heavily since 2005, Furuwas are still on average the poorest race on Gotchi planet. However, they are steadily recovering, especially ever since a furuwa girl married the Gotchi prince in 2002 and became Gotchi Queen.

Hmm, I think you are a good writer and definitely creative. :) I liked the idea of the different Tamagotchis being from different races or breeds. The Furuwas are my favourite type. I think flower-heads are the cutest little things.

You definitely have potential, but I feel that a lot of people come to Tamagotchis and TamaTalk for escapism. A few members (myself included) struggle with depression, so the sweet nature of Tamagotchi world, and the way the characters don't seem to be capable of hurting each other is what helps us get through the day. Because of this there may not be a lot of people liking this theory simply due to the dark nature of it.

I liked a lot of it until it got to the part where the Furuwas where treated badly--even attacked. To me that didn't seem possible in the Tamagotchi universe (it's distinguishing characteristic to me seems to be that innocence and benevolence to each other), but illness and some differences certainly are possibilities. I would believe in a Tamagotchi universe where characters got sick, wiped out or even died from a plague.
But I could not really buy into a universe where Tamagotchis attacked each other, because of the nature of the characters--it just seems impossible.

I do see from the anime slight bullying, gruff characters and sad emotions would be possible though. You could always add the depth and emotional variation you are looking for without having the characters cross the line into human behaviors such as physically hurting each other.

From your warning you are aware of this and expecting this to have a niche audience.

If you see from my own log (second link), it's not all sunshine and rainbows. There are sad parts, and I am using it to work through some emotions so I understand those feelings.

It's good to want to give the characters a good emotional range. That way you can deepen your connection with the characters in your favourite show/game. However, you might end up shooting yourself in the foot and creating a world so bleak that it loses the appeal it had in the first place-escapism. That is why a lot of my latest entries are written the way I wish things were.

You may want to consider a middle ground where you write/log some stories for the fanfiction, giving the characters a broader range of feelings and interactions-but at the same time as maintaining a level of escapism and innocence that is the spirit of the Tamagotchi universe.

Good luck! :) I truly think you have a creative gift, and will do well finding a middle ground.
