Hi Tamatalkers!

So one of my favourite parts of collecting Tamas and other random V-pets is getting to share my collection with other people who love and collect the same things, and have other people share their collection with me.

It always makes me happy and gives me new ideas on what I'd love to add to my own collection, or it can bring up stories of how and when you got a certain tama or pet, or your favourite one and why, and generally leaves people happy

So I thought I'd kick off an appreciation thread for tama and pet collections however big or small, where we can share our collections or faves with each other, or talk about when we started collecting and why we love/do it, or what we would love to add some day.

I started my love of v-pets in 1996 when I was 6 years old and my dad bought me my first one for Christmas that year

I had him for years and loved him right up until I lost him in a house move, but because of him already had a little personal collection growing of digimon, pikachu pedometers and other dollar store v-pets. In particular I had a chicken pet my grandma got me from a local Bi-Lo (like an early aldi or woolworths) that cost her $2, but was my favourite for years!

All through primary and highschool I always had one or more types of pets running, and became known for it to the point where people always just expected to see one on me

Fast forward to being an adult of 18, out of school and with my first job, disposable income, and discovering eBay (haha), my modest little collection of birthday and Christmas gifts just grew from there.

Now I'm a married 26yr old artist that gets to stay at home with our beautiful rescue animals, while my husband works and provides for us, so after I do my part of looking after him and our house and all the wife things I love doing, I get time to really enjoy my hobby, and always have time to run something for myself. Even my hubby runs some with me sometimes (he loved the V3!)

This is my little collection so far, I'm very grateful for some of the finds and deals I've come across, and for the diversity of what I've collected over the years!

I'll make a list in about an hour when my internet connection isn't so spotty, but I look forward to seeing your collections and stories

Hello! My tama collection is tiny compared to yours but I received my first tama back in 2013. It was a black headphones music star that I loved to bits. It is still with me today! Birthdays and Christmas presents have mainly added to my collection, it is surprisingly mostly colours which I thought would never happen back when I started collecting.

I am also expecting two more next month. :)

Wow no thats excellent! How lucky to be getting colors for gifts!

Love your collection, and I was super fond of my music star too, I had the pink "music city" version that I played to death.

I was honestly thinking of starting up one again, but my iDL is getting so much play right now, and I'm pretty bad at multitasking

or running more than one at a time. I end up accidentally playing favorites haha

Oh wow I just spotted you have the movie too, how cute, so do I!

Only watched it once and forget most of it, should give it another watch haha.

Really impressive collection there! My collection is also quite tiny compared to yours. I've lost a LOT of tamas over the years either from moves or from my mother throwing them out.

There are a couple that I know I have in the house that are missing from this pic, including a P2, a Tama-Go (which I THINK ended up in my sister's room but I'm not quite sure), and a second Angel which got kinda ruined when my dad decided he'd try to get the stripped screw out (not to mention, he stripped it in the first place...). So basically, I don't let my family touch my tamas anymore xD. I also have an Entama in the mail which will be a great addition to my collection shortly but it hasn't arrived yet.

All of the tamas pictured were acquired in the last 3 months. they were all bought used except the Angel. I definitely want to get a colour tama eventually but I'm working on getting all of the Connection and vintage tamas I want first.

Hey thank you so much!

And collections are awesome no matter what size, I love yours, Japanese angels are my favourite!

And I know what you mean about them going missing, my problem at the start was "lending" mine to friends who would say after 6 months "it wasn't me you lent it to".

Also I have a habit of making a new friend and gifting them with a Tama immediately like "you'll love this, try it!", and then the person completely loses touch, never use the Tama, and I never hear from them again :p

Lessons learnt, I just enjoy them with my hubby now. Haha.

And before I moved out my Tamas were always in my little brothers room or scattered about somewhere.

And oh no your angel Tama! I learnt very early on that I had to try and fix that stuff myself because I was worried someone might break something and then I would be mad at myself for not doing it myself. At least if I break it its on me and I cant get feral haha.

I don't let little kids touch my "kiddie" things and it annoys some people, but hey, Its my house and I am a perpetual childish soul and I don't want stuff broken XD

And the Entamas are great!! I think you'll really love it! Really cool that it only took you 3 months to get these.

See you said my collection is big but Im 26 and Ive had Tamas since I was 6 so you've done super well for yourself in 3 months!

And that's awesome, I started with all the vintage first too, and I see so many people on here still playing the V3s and V4s to death aswell so there's still alot around

Right now I see everyone playing with a Tamagotchi m!x and it makes me suuuuuuper want to get one, but I'm being good and waiting until its not going to break the bank haha.

2x Digital Monster <3 (*_*)
Haha, yeah I looooove Digimon Digital Monsters! <3

Unfortunately the buttons are a bit unresponsive on the green one, I have to fix it a bit before I can play -__- :D

Disassembly + Alcohol and cotton bud on the copper of the PCB and under the buttons, and it's gone! :)

I do not find my original 1997 Y_Y , but I will make a little fun with the preorder of 2x Digital Monster ver.20th.

Oh excellent! Thats great advice thank you  I have rubbing alcohol and alcohol wipes so I can maybe fix it and play it, yay!

Ah thats no good you cant find the Original, but I think you will have a lot of fun with ver.20th Digital Monster, I'm excited to get some too!

You should post pictures when you get yours

The Ver.20th Digital Monster are pre-order but official release in June.

I highly recommend the cotton swabs+alcohol, not wipes.

This is a slighty older photo. It doesn't include the 3 Tamas I've gotten in the mail since or the 1 I'm expecting shortly. I'll be sure to update this when that happens!

What a great collection Yamiko! Totally envious of all the different colour versions you have and the cute little straps and the Mimitchi pouch! Plus I have to say those little knitted cases are the CUTEST and very big congrats if you made them

Would love to know how to do that, been wanting to make one for ages.

I have that white 20th anniversary m!x coming in the mail and I'm so excited! Can the face plate come off to make different covers?

Looking forward to seeing an updated pic of your collection!

Thank you for the kind words! Apparently there is a way to change the faceplate on the mix! (but I'm too much of a baby to try) I had hapi make my covers I don't know how to knit or crochet! ^^ I hope to eventually have some kind of skill to add to the tama community!

Thank you for the compliments! And yes, I did make my own custom m!x faceplate based on the anime Shugo Chara! It looks messy up close but I think it gives it character :p

Which v5 shell design do you like? I love them both, but I'm infatuated by the European City design.

Oh wow that's so creative! Good on you, I really love that, and it looks great in the pictures! I don't think mine are going to come out anywhere near that good

And yeeeeees the European City design  omg its so nice it struck me straight away because I've always loved that one, something about it is just awesome! (both are super cute though!)
