Hey hey guys!

So my husband works in the sheet-metal industry, and lately I've been mentioning I want to make stands for my tamas so I can display some, and how I wanted to make little cradles for some. Soooo he made me these stands at work this week!

Im so grateful and I love them, we are going to decorate them with paints and things, and he wants me to write down the measurements of any I want a stand for so he can make them when he has free time

He also came home from the shop yesterday with Pink, BabyBlue, Purple and Lime clay/dough that I can use to make cradles and charms and bake it! <3

They are completely zinc coated and silver sprayed so no rust or damage can happen, and he made them on hydraulic bending machines and then welding the parts together.

I'm using them right now for my ones I'm running and my "Tama-Phone"

Just thought they were very cool for something he made off the top of his head at work. I feel very very lucky!

EDIT: I keep re-sizing my images on photoucket to tiny dimensions and saving over the original, but for some reason I cant shrink them here  lol

Hope the image size doesnt bother anyone.

Hello,

Nice :) Small suggestion = auto paint plastic ("mat" preferably for an anti-slip effect) + varnish

Nice feel to the touch and non-slip.

Good luck in your work, I can't wait to see the result. I like this kind of thing ^^

Wow thankyou so much Ogami that's an excellent suggestion! it looks so great on that Tama (very cool setup for your P by the way!). I'm going to find some of that for sure, and I will be posting updates here, so keep your eyes out

Thankyou for the encouragement too that's very lovely . I love making tama things, I'm about to update with something I made just now

So cool! I love the little stands! Now I want one, tehe~
Thank you so much Hapihapitchi! I told my husband and he got so happy, he was saying to me "there not that good but I tried" and I kept saying " NO they are awesome and Tamatalk is going to LOVE them!", so he is so happy people like it. Cant wait for the next step of decorating

And I can always get my husband to make them for people, he said "if people love them I can just make some in my spare time and you can let people know when they are ready :3". I can also decorate for people or leave them blank silver zinc coated so other people can decorate themself!

I love sharing fun Tama stuff around and would only charge postage so If anyone ever wants, feel free to ask! :p

EDIT:

And this is the cradle I just made for my iDL with the coloured dough he got me too

It was so much fun to make!

Man, I wish I had talent to make stands! I would totally use them to show off my 4Us and their custom face plates! And I would love to have a place to show off tamas that don't have a box!

-2 or 3 coats of plastic paint
- small decoration and finishing with paint or pen (metal or glitter)
-3 or 4 coats of varnish

Your tamagotchi or your telephone are protected, and in addition you can wash your Tama-Stands in water with soap ^_^ And again the plastic paint 'matt' is super effect to the touch :p

Haha I'm absolutely sure that you could make awesome stands Yamiko! Thats why I wanted stands, for my unboxed ones, and so I could have my lil iDL all displayed where ever I was in the house  If you ever want anything mocked up just pm me sometime

Thankyou so much for the info! I'll be getting some this weekend

I have some pretty silver and pink "nail art" pens, do you think they would work?

And Im already so keen to make little charms. Im really excited I hope they turn out looking all nice like your Tama!

Haha. and thankyou so much  I like making silly little collages/pictures.

And it is my first cradle making attempt and its in the oven as I type.

20 minutes left and its looking pretty good! (although at the start the middle exploded because I left air in it and I had to quickly take it out and fix it -_- -_- lol)

Just respect the distance (~ 15cm) and the waiting time between the layers of plastic paint (first thin layer to adhere and 15 ~ 30min between each layer and 2h of drying for the last).

And you can start your finishes :)

And I think the "nail art" works very well, if it does not drip too much.
But shave yourself, the plastic paint is swallowed like a vegetable after 2 hours without varnish.

Edit: I see a stand under the theme of comics version Tama ^ o ^

I stayed a big child (laughing)

Thankyou so much for all of the instructions, I've written them all down for myself in a notepad, along with the advice.

I should be getting some this weekend (in Aus its Saturday).Super keen!

And I will definitely get varnish, don't want my hard work getting ruined quick ^_^

I already have this feeling though that I should practice on lesser Tamas first haha

And I think thats great to stay a big child! Life is more fun and happy that way!

The little Tamagotchi or your Tama-stands?

If you do the little Tamagotchi, disassemble the tamagotchi (window irda included) to paint as the plastic wishes. Small precision, the rubber its varnished very badly, or not at all (*the buttons).

But I apologize my English is not very good, I surely misunderstood :p

Plastic paint alone makes the touch porous (and difficult to clean).

But the varnished and plastic paint gives a satin touch (+ protection and consolidates + easy to clean)

I was going to do the stands and try on my little Tamas too

And thank you i will make sure to remove the irda window, and the rubber buttons, those buttons can be hard to paint and dont like it much I know  sometimes they fall apart.

And your English is great, not to worry at all my friend, I can understand you perfectly

I like the way it looks when porous, but yes it would be very hard to clean so I will use varnish,

Does it still look porous with the varnish, because I like the look of that "matte" effect

Plastic paint alone = porous and crumbles a little after a while. (Has force to touch)
Plastic paint with varnish = very very lightweight brilliant, touching satain and granular (anti-slip style, rather pleasant)

Here is a picture of the back of my Tama-PowerBank P's (Sorry, photo not great...) =

The simplest is to do a test on your side.

Edit: I found a drop protection without varnish

No great differences

Wow, that is a GREAT example thank you so much!

After seeing this I will definitely be using the varnish, it looks so silky and sleek but still looks "matt effect"

Its beautiful, your projects are really impressive

Again, thank you so much for all of your help ^_^
