Hi,

I have been looking at a few Tamagotchis recently as I use to have the original, a connection and even the Pickachu thing. My biggest question is that I can't remember if the original 96 model had "Tamagotchi" above the screen like the 97 does. I'm assuming so but can't remember as this is going back 21 years for me. I am now 28 and when I saw that there was a Tamagotchi app I got that feeling of nostalgia and thought the original would make a sweet key chain.

It depends on the shell design. Some of them had Tamagotchi written on top and some don't.

Are these two genuine or fake? They look like ones I had as a kid, have been trying to find a few childhood toys and electronics as collectors items. I would keep one original on a key chain to use all the time and the others would be placed in a display cabinet along with other items i've collected.

Those two are genuine. I believe they're American models, but I'm not 100% sure.

The blue is European and the white is American. I also bought a black one with white buttons and a see through white one (both american). With the two in the first pictures both being P1s and the second two being p2s I will be using the plain black one as a keychain so both p1s and the see-through p2 will be on display in one of my gaming room cabinets.

Thanks for the help :) It has been ages since I had a Tamagotchi so I can't wait for these 4 to arrive. I have been collecting an assortment of gaming and toy memorabilia from the 80s, 90s and early 00s to put in my gaming room to reflect the era that I grew up in, since I realized there was a Tamagotchi app I have been on the hunt for p1s, p2s and Tamagotchi Connections to display in my gaming room cabinets.
