Hey, so im trying to figure out which tamagotchi would i have the most fun playing with and growing the family tree with only one physical tamagotchi.

Right now im looking at the M!x, P, and 4U

Hi there! If you're after a growing family tree, then definitely a Mix, since the purpose of it is to marry it off and to have the next generation be a blend of their parents. It's up to you as to which one you get, but in order to unlock one destination (Mermaid Palace), you need to connect it to three other Mix units. This doesn't apply to the Anniversary Mix.

I wouldn't recommend the 4U/4U+ because without a compatible NFC device, you can't really do much. The Tamagotchi itself is quite bland too, in my opinion.

I don't have a P's but that one is pretty popular and it does have additional content.

Tamagotchi M!X is definitely for growing a family tree also it is a lot of fun regardless of the version you get!

Tamagotchi 4U are fun but if you want a variety of characters this is not the version for you. It is kind of watered down, but I like it more than the P's because I like the characters better. There is a Fan made App that has the special connection spots that were Japan exclusive.

Tamagotchi P's, they are a good spin off of the iD L's to me. They seem to have tried to add to what the iD L's already had. The Characters are the Dream Town Characters which were not my personal favorite (Not sure how you feel about them) The actual Tamagotchi itself is fun even without the extra pierces. though the pierces do add flare when it starts to get repetitive. If you want this version you are going to spend an arm and a leg looking for the device New for around 60-80 dollars and some of the pierces are cheap and about $13, but some of the well sought after ones can be $130+. A lot of people really like the P's so if you get one you most likely will not be disappointed.

You will not go wrong with any of these versions, but if you are looking for the family tree aspect the M!X is the way to go.
