I recently picked up my 20th anniversary tama at my local Target. I opened it up and turned it on until I notice a smudge of the screen. I tried wiping it off but it was on the INSIDE of the screen :( . I don't know what to do about it but i'll continue to care for it. I just wanted to know if this was a flaw other people had. ^_^

I do have a 20th Anniversary Tama, however it doesn't seem to have this problem. My best guess is that the smudge came from poor manufacturing.

Alright, so I also have a smudged screen, but it's on the side so it's not as noticeable but it's still there. I agree with Hood-P though, that it is most likely a poor manufacturing error.

Getting smudges inside the screen has happened to other Tamagotchi versions, and is probably a general manufacturing error as others have concluded. The only way to get rid of it would be to open up the Tamagotchi and wipe it off, perhaps with a cloth as to not get particles on the rest of it. I feel that as long as you don't lose pieces and screw everything back together tightly, you should be fine. I've taken an Angelgotchi (a vintage tama) apart and screwed it back together and it works fine. I've also taken a Tamagotchi Dream Town Friends apart and although it works fine, it wouldn't close properly so I had to put tape over the gap in the plastic. Since the mini is likely more similar to a vintage Tamagotchi than a modern one, it will likely stay together better than my Dream Town.

My 20th Anniversary Tamagotchi Mini also has this problem. It's an orange one that was bought in the UK in mid-October, shortly after their release here.

The smudge is over to the left-hand side on mine, and I don't really notice it now that I'm used to it.
