((WOOT! THIS SERIES IS NOT DEAD!

A newfound interest from me, and, well, what do you know? I've had to start a new comments section, seeing that the old one is over three months old - oops. I'm sure older followers of the then-short series are happy to see this return, as are new people who just saw this and was like "WOW WOT DIS".

Anyway, answering Cheesytchi's question from the older section: The Tamagotchis are meant to be the size of a big Pokemon plush. 40"? Not too tall, but enough to carry one in your arms. If you want an easier comparison, the height of a toddler to a 5 year old. Much better. Thanks for the feedback, too! :D

Also, the "unknown sender" shall hopefully be revealed in due time. ;)

OKAY, LET'S BEGIN! If you can't remember too much, read the older chapters or the update in this fic. Thanks in advance!!))

EARTH TO TAMAGOTCHI - PART 3

Rummaging through the pantry cupboard, I groaned in frustration.

“Where’s the biscuits? The shortbread, the Saos?!” I muttered to myself, shoving everything that wasn’t confectionery and deliciousness out of the way. I felt two pairs of eyes on me, and I could tell the sight was more or less confusing – the food would just appear out of nowhere for the Tamagotchis, even if I did select it…

…man, thinking about the whole situation even more just confused the heck out of me.

Okay, so, update – the Tamagotchi toys, the cool shells? They hosted actual aliens through an interstellar connection. That day, for some reason, two of my Tamagotchi versions – My iD L and V6 – randomly exploded. Yes, I am not kidding. Now, my two Tamas I was raising, Lovelitchi and Kuromametchi, somehow exist on the surface of Earth.

I quickly shook my head. This whole event was just extremely awry!

“U-Um… S.P?”

I didn’t realise I’d been staring into space until Lovelitchi spoke up. Quickly spinning to face the kitchen bench, where the big, plush-sized Tamagotchis sat, a gingerly look on my face.

“Sorry, Lovelitchi… I don’t think we have any biscuits…” I sighed. If I was going to get my mind off the situation that included the two lifeforms before me, I needed to focus on more important things… Like cookie rations.

The rabbit-like Tamagotchi pouted. “Aww… I-It’s okay, I’m sure there’s something else…” A hiccup, and I realised that not only was this Lovelitchi shy and introverted, she was also very emotional. Lucky for me, Kuromametchi was one to take a hint from the female sitting next to him.

“Woa- Hey, d-don’t…” A few stammers, and a cute red blush had appeared on the punkish creature’s face. “S.P, ya probably didn’t look hard enough. Move over for a sec.”

Jumping down from the marble bench in a way that was too cool to be described, Kuromametchi quickly dashed to the heavenly portal that was the kitchen pantry, hopping from shelf to shelf – all while Lovelitchi stared in complete awe.

Come on, it was obvious. These two were so cute together it was noticeable to everyone but them. A cheeky smirk had appeared on my face, but I decided to leave it alone… for now.

“Aha!” A sudden cry of victory told me that the black-eared Tama had instantly found something edible, and sure enough – the classic chocolate-chip cookies that had somehow been hidden from me this whole time.

“What… How?” A confused expression crossed my face.

Kuromametchi shot me a look. “It was in-front of you, third shelf.” Soon enough, he was back on the kitchen bench, opening the big packet of biscuits. Lovelitchi’s eyes grew as wide as alien saucers – which was appropriate for this situation.

The two Tamagotchi’s eyes met for a sec, as I drifted over to the delicious smell of chocolate-chip cookies. As I reached into the bag to grab one, Kuromametchi suddenly swatted my arm.

“Ow! Hey!” As I recoiled, he snuffed a cookie from the heavenly pocket, and… slowly… shyly… handed it to the pink-clad cyber-pet next to him.

I went from annoyed to pure happiness. Internally fist-pumping at this point in time, and, while Lovelitchi was slowly nibbling on the sweet, sweet joy that was the biscuit, simultaneously locking eyes with the madly-in-love Tamagotchi next to her, I managed to quickly snatch a few cookies from the bag.

Yeeeeeeees!!!

All of a sudden, they looked away from each other, faces red and eyes down-turned. The voices of victory in my head stopped.

Dammit.

Lovelitchi, suddenly noticing I was still standing up, scooted onto the next chair, allowing me to rest my legs. Felt good! Especially since I had to carry the two aliens down the stairs… Ugh.

Suddenly, I heard a loud thud come from upstairs. Lovelitchi shrieked, jumping onto me in a flash. Kuromametchi, while not as scared, chose to swiftly hide behind me.

“Way ta’ use me as a human shield, guys...” I quietly muttered, mostly trying to be humorous, but at the same time…

…Another thump, and my door slowly creaked open… wait a second, I closed it before!

Suddenly, a thought shot through my head. Shivers were sent up my spine. I wasn’t running anymore Tamagotchis, so this could only mean one thing – Flat battery.

Oh no.

I clenched my knuckles so hard that they crumbled the cookies in my hands, pieces clunking on the ground. The suspension was building, and I knew what was happening.

“S-S.P-!” Lovelitchi whimpered, starting to shake. Standing up, I grabbed her by the scuff of her neck – as softly as I could, at least with my hands – and nestled her in my arms. If I had one chance at this, I needed to get as close to these little Tamas as I could; the ‘bond’ I had before didn’t count.

Kuromametchi, hopping among my shoulder, showed no signs of fear. He was so cool. Meanwhile, my legs were slightly shaking, my palms smudged with crumbs of the now-demised chocolate-chip biscuits I never ate.

“Well?” He eyed the two of us, particularly me. “Lead the way.”

Creeping up the stairs, I knew that an explanation would have to wait – about the dead battery, of course. Thing is, when the shell goes flat, the game stops in it’s tracks, until you replace the battery. But now that there was a whole new world beyond the pixelated shell, I needed to build my trust with the two Tamagotchis – who knew what thoughts they had, now that they learnt their (small) life had been a lie.

Anyway, I wasn’t going to focus on that. Reaching the top of the stairs, I looked from left to right at Lovelitchi and Kuromametchi, respectively. We all shared our nervousness – well, maybe except for the dark-eared punk on my right shoulder -, and, we were ready to face what was coming next. If this Tamagotchi belonged to a dead shell, they had every right to hate me – My iD L and V6 were the only versions being run. I hadn’t started a Tamagotchi in a few months before these guys.

Slowly, I creaked my now-open door wider just a bit more. Lovelitchi, scared once more, clung to my shoulder like a ghost. Kuromametchi, hopping down from my shoulder, got ready.

It could attack us at any moment! The thought came into my head. Scrunching up my face, I removed it – Tamagotchis, as I had experienced, were not feral creatures…

…right?

Fear got to me, and I slammed the door wide open. Poor Lovelitchi almost toppled off, but I managed to catch her in time.

A few hours had past since my iD L had first “cracked” in a sense (ha, ha…), and the evening sun was shining gloriously through my also-now-open window…

…Crouching on my sill was none other than Nyatchi, who didn’t look very happy to see me.

My breath hitched. Tension once again rose in the air. Kuromametchi stood tall, ready to fight at any time. However, the green, cat-like creature calmly stood up on her two stubby feat, locking her squinted eyes with mine.

“S.P.” She stated calmly. “You’re lucky I remember your name.” A growl under-toned her seemingly-flat voice, as, still standing, she turned to face the outside world, away from my room.

“Nyatchi.” I softly stated. The one on my V2 I worked so hard to get, yet abandoned her in just a few days time. My reasons were everything but justified. Bored? Not anymore when you discover a whole species depends on your attention span.

“Yes.” Her nasally voice could cut wires, and, eyeing my now-destroyed, burning V2 on the ground, I could see wires poking out. Lovelitchi softly climbed down from me, onto the ground, timidly walking over to the broken device. A soft gasp as she knelt down, she poked and prodded, shivering in it’s presence.

It was in a worse condition than the iD L. At least that one still had it’s Infa-Red port intact.

“S.P.” Nyatchi’s voice cut me back to attention. “Now that I am out of my shell, I can see how little you cared for me.”

Oof. I thought to myself. That one hurt.

Lovelitchi seemed insulted too, her head whirled around to Nyatchi, a confused glare on her face.

“I cannot stay here any longer.” A flicker of hurt on the cat’s face, just for a moment. “Goodbye, S.P.” Facing the sun, she crouched down, ready to jump towards the ground.

“No!” In a flash, Lovelitchi and Kuromametchi were suddenly holding her back.

“Don’t leave!” The pink-clad Tamagotchi cried.

“Don’t take the risk!” The piercing-wearing Tamagotchi shouted.

Nyatchi, struggling in their grip, growled and threatened.

“I’m not staying here with the one thing that abandoned me!” She cried, hissing like a normal cat would do. Turning to me, she bared her fangs. “She’ll do it again! To all of us! To you two!”

All the while, I was staring in horror. Yeah, the shell would turn off, but considering that, as said before, their world worked differently… Was it possible Nyatchi was sentient for six years?

I bit my lip. Lovelitchi and Kuromametchi were starting to struggle, holding the green and brown creature in their stubby lil’ grips.

“S.P! We can’t hold her! She’s gonna run away!” Lovelitchi cried, tears starting to well up in her eyes. Her black-eared companion, noticing this, tightened his grip, causing Nyatchi to yowl.

As I watched the struggle, I had to come to a realization. This was surely happening to others around the world, right?

...Maybe it was the right thing to do.

“Let her go.” I muttered, my eyes to the ground. The two Tamagotchis of mine threw confused looks at me.

What?” Kuromametchi asked, simultaneously trying to pull Nyatchi back at the same time.

“Let Nyatchi go.” I looked at the three Tamagotchis this time. “She doesn’t deserve to be held back against her will, after what I did to her.” My breath hitched, just for a second, before I continued. “Just…let her go.”

Lovelitchi got the message, but not before looking at the abandoned pet next to her. Loosening her grip, the rabbit-like cyber alien hopped off the sill, Kuromametchi following suit.

The cat Tamagotchi stood there, just for a minute, before turning to look at me one last time.

“Thank you.”

She jumped off, and was gone.

A tense silence, before Lovelitchi let the waterworks flow. Kuromametchi allowed her to embrace him, locking his own emotions away.

I stared out the window, before dropping to my knees, staring at the ground.

I didn’t realize I was crying until my vision blurred.

Trying to wipe my tears, they just kept coming out, as I panicked in desperation.

No! No! Stop it! Stop!

However, I also didn’t notice the presence of the two Tamagotchis, now hugging me, as I cried. She was gone.

“She’s gone. She’s gone! She doesn’t know how the world works. She’ll probably die, and it’d be my fault-”

As I rambled on, about things that were untrue, Lovelitchi and Kuromametchi stayed there, as I let it out before me. I’d been taught this wasn’t the answer, so why did it feel so good?

Eventually, I stopped. My iD L had fallen asleep, and…

…That’s right. They were alive. They were my friends. My eyes trailed down, where the two were soundly sleeping.

A bitter smile made it’s way to my face. If we all had thoughts like this, than maybe… maybe we could work together.

Picking up the two, emotionally-exhausted creatures, I carried them shortly onto my bed, which – lucky for me – was big enough for one human and bounteous of Tamagotchis. As Lovelitchi and Kuromametchi slept soundly, my eyes started to flutter.

“Wait… I gotta get… change…” I trailed off as I fell onto the bed-sheets, sound asleep and absolutely exhausted.

From sharing cookies, to letting one go… Tamagotchi was going to change my life even more than it did, when I first started to collect them.

- NEW MESSAGE: Reading :
“You are not alone.”
-

- - -

Next chapter: It's the weekend, but news of Tamagotchis popping out of their shells hasn't been shown yet. Unless S.Ps' a special snowflake, there's secrets to be held... But it's probably the former. A new friend, and a teenage girl who has no idea what's going on - and should probably check her pocket designer.
