Hi there! My 20th anniversary P2 seems to have run out if battery. There's the battery with the X screen. Out of curiosity to see if I could save my tamagotchi, I took the battery out of my working V2 and put it in it, but the dead battery screen appeared again. Shouldn't it work for the P2, since it is good for my V2? I also put this battery in the V2 and it's running fine. Does anyone know what kind of problem this is?

I actually had something similar happen on my V2 today, but it's way older than your P2 update, and in my case, I think it was that the contacts were mashed down a little too much and had a tiny bit of corrosion on them. Maybe check the contacts on your P2 or try a fresh 2032?

(It's cool the updates have the low battery screen!)

I'd also recommend trying a new battery on your P2 because Tamagotchis can be very finicky when it comes to batteries. The one in your V2 may be close to running out but, your V2 can still use it. The P2 might not be reacting to the battery because the battery doesn't have enough power to run it. I've noticed that the V5 has the same sort of problem. Near dead batteries don't work with it but they do work on other tamas. If a new battery doesn't work, then your going to want to check the contacts.

Thank you both! Well, I removed and placed it back a couple of times and in the end it worked again, so I don't really know what's the problem, but just to be sure, I bought a new battery. Now it looks fine.

Could I just confirm something, please?

Once you got it working again, did things resume from where you left off, or did you find yourself with a new egg?

I got a new egg, but the battery screen was already gone, maybe if you replace it before the screen fades you'll keep the old one, I don't know. But there's definitely enough time to do this if you have a new battery.

Thankyou! :)

I was asking because I'd already tried to verify in another thread whether or not a "Download/Reset" option existed on the Shuku 20 Shunen line, and my result was the same as yours - you only seem to get a new egg. I just wanted to make sure that I hadn't gotten anything wrong in my testing.

Thanks again!
