Hi everyone, and welcome to my Tama log! I've been wanting to do one of these for, well, literal years, but couldn't drum up the motivation to actually bother, until a rather momentous Tamagotchi-related occasion happened a few days ago.

You see, after fifteen consecutive generations, I got my first not-so-cute character on my Spacy M!X. I'd heard of this happening to others, but it never happened to me.... until now. Meet MameGuriritchi, a.k.a. Harris:

Harris looks like someone took Mametchi's head and plopped it onto the bottom half of an acorn. The effect is rather...unnerving, to say the least. I try to convince myself that he's kind of cute in a bizarre sort of way, but the disembodied-Mametchi-head just gets me every time. Gah.

And you know how, in a large family, one kid will take after mum, another will take after granddad, and yet another will totally have great-aunt Doris' eyes? And then, there's always one child who doesn't resemble ANYONE, simply because their physical characteristics have skipped too many generations for anyone to remember? Yup. That's Harris. The only Mametchi in the family was FIVE GENERATIONS AGO, but the Mame genes are going STRONG in him.

Anyway, while genetics were not so kind to poor Harris, he's still my Tamagotchi, and I still adore him. Besides, he's really quite sweet - he likes nothing more than relaxing in the Patchi Forest Onsen and drinking tomato juice (....tomato juice?!?). Also, did I mention he's the worst hide-and-seek player ever? Evidence below:

EVERYONE CAN SEE YOU, HARRIS.

I hope you'll keep reading as I chronicle the adventures of my awkward acorn! This won't be a daily log, but there will likely be updates here every few days or so!

Until next time!

EVERYONE CAN SEE YOU, HARRIS.
That one actually made me laugh! Harris does look pretty bizzare, doesn't he? It's just as unnerving over here, but he looks so precious and I'd want to protect him - unless I ended up neglecting him, of course. Sorry, past M!xs. :(

I like this log! The pictures are a good size, and your commentary is pretty entertaining to read. :D

Thanks for your nice comment, Tamacass! Glad I could make you laugh!

Without further ado...welcome to another installment of the adventures of my awkward acorn, Harris! Honestly, Harris has been spending most of his time at his parents' house while yours truly has been super busy in the research lab, but today's pretty darn slow, so I can bring you another log entry! To give you context, Harris has a pretty big crush on a girl from Rainbow Hills (whose name starts with Watawata- and ends in -tchi but shhh don't tell Harris I told you) and has plans to visit her soon. So, I decided to take him shopping for a new look so he can REALLY impress her. Off we went to Tama Depa...

There wasn't all that much selection at Tama Depa, honestly. The only thing that caught my eye was this...inner tube thing. I mean, it would sit where the Mametchi head ends, and the acorn begins, so that might actually be a good look for Harris as it would distract from some of his more...unsettling features. It wasn't very expensive, so we bought it.

Harris was excited to try it on upon getting home, so he just ducked behind the Magic Curtain of Modesty, and....

Oh DEAR. That'll never do. Harris, you look like one of those buoys they set up at the beach to prevent people from swimming too far out!

"...What, you like it? Well, I suppose you can wear it if you really want to, Harris, but it's seriously not flattering. But I won't say any more, you're a grown Tamagotchi and can dress yourself..."

Since the Tama Depa trip ended up being an absolute bust, we hopped the bus and went to the Patchi Forest shop. They have some pretty neat hippie-type stuff there. Harris insisted on wearing his new purchase out, in what I can only assume was an attempt to convince me to to like it. Not happening, buddy.

We ended up seeing this amazing leaf crown there. It was 50% off, so it was impossible to pass up. I had a really good feeling about this one. Now I was the one excited to see how this looked, so I got Harris to try it on...

Harris looked AMAZING and ADORABLE. The leaf crown suited him even better than I expected. This was THE LOOK.

He was clearly feeling handsome too. Hopefully it won't go to his head!

Isn't it a good feeling when you find the perfect thing to wear? That's it for today, but come back next time...I miiiight have some juicy details from Harris' date!

I've had the rottenest luck over the past 10 days. No sooner did I get over an awful virus as I came down with some unholy bronchitis thing that's hung on for what feels like forever. Anyway, since this is Yatagarasu's Tamagotchi Ramblings and not Yatagarasu's Whining Corner, back to the subject of Tamas. Specifically, Harris. Poor, poor Harris, who's trapped in the void, not yet gone, but not quite alive.

I was in a near-miss incident on the city bus a few days ago - the driver had to slam on the brakes because of some idiot who didn't know how to change lanes properly. Everyone in the back of the bus, myself included, was thrown forward, and Harris flew out of my hand, landed pretty hard on the floor of the bus, and went skittering away. A gentleman was nice enough to retrieve Harris for me, thank goodness ("I hope your, uh, egg thing is okay?", he said, sizing up Harris' pink plastic exterior). There was no major outward damage to Harris' shell, but the screen was totally blank even when I pressed all the buttons. I dug out a pencil from my bag and tried resetting, I put in new batteries when I got home...nothing. Something in there got dislodged, detached, or cracked, and I have yet to find out what.

Now, I'm very handy at repairing and messing with Tamas, and have refurbished some seemingly hopeless cases over the years. I'm just not confident in my ability to fix Tamas while on medication that makes me incredibly drowsy. I'll probably do a video or something of Harris' "surgery", but until then, I'll likely shift focus of this log to my anniversary iD L or new Entama. I'll probably have another entry with pictures tomorrow, but this sick birb needs sleep now. Good night, everyone!
