I would recommend them! I've only played Corner Shop 2 and 3, so I can't say how good the first one was. The second one is my favorite. The minigames on the third one just weren't as interesting (that doesn't mean it's bad though).

A CORNER SHOP POST YAAAAY  ALL the nostalgia.

Okay, so, I'm assuming you already know that they are basically a collection of minigames - not much of a "story" involved. You run shops with your Tama partner and you can expand them. Yup. The games also quite simple - I was around 11 or 12 when the first one came out (I think?) and could tell that the game was targeted to a younger audience than me! But I enjoyed childrens' games and still do to this day so I had a lot of fun with them. The best advice I can give is don't try to expand just one shop all in one go, as you'll get tired of the repetition and get bored of the game :(

Corner Shop 3 is my favourite, as they added quite a few cute features, and a refreshing selection of shops - the gardening shop and piano school were really fun. In Corner Shop 1 and 2, you choose either Mametchi, Memetchi, or Kuchipatchi as your business partner and run the shops with them - but in Corner Shop 3 they added Violetchi / Furawatchi (whichever you prefer... :furawatchi: ), and you have the option to switch Tama partners anytime. They also added a cute little "journaling" feature where you can scribble down your innermost thoughts (though those thoughts have to be confined to the length of a tweet or so :p ). There is also a park that you can decorate and grow flowers in - your shop customers will visit and you can see what they have to say. You can also create unflattering Tamagotchi avatars of your friends and they can come visit you in the park too!

Also, they released a couple other Corner Shop games for DS in Japan that we didn't get here, that you can emulate if you're interested. I think even with little knowledge of Japanese they would still be fun.

I love the corner shop games, they're really cute and fun and quite addicting to play.

The Corner Shop games are great. Get them if you can find them. Too bad I had Corner Shop 1 as a pirated copy and I accidentally overwrote my Corner Shop 2 save data

Still planning to buy Corner Shop 3 someday.

I recently picked up Corner Shop 2 and have yet to play it, but reading all these recommendations makes me want to give it a try! These games usually sell for quite cheap at used video game stores if anyone's looking to pick them up (I saw another copy of Corner Shop 2 at my local store for 9.95$ CAD yesterday).

Oh yeah I'd like to add that in the time since my last post I've been playing Corner Shop 2 a bit and it's pretty fun. The games all have unique gameplay although some can get a bit tedious at times, but I love seeing all the different Tamagotchi characters and getting to know their names better. The part where you take care of your partner is a bit lacking in my opinion but it's a nice relaxing game overall. I probably would have liked it a lot more when I was younger but I still enjoy it enough to play it now and would definitely pick up one of the other versions as well. And considering the 8$ I paid for it, it was well worth it!
