when they have babies are they always the same gender, like two boys or two girls?

simsimxoo, do you know where I can find a picture of the screen of a tamagotchi when the mom or dad is with its baby? :p

When two tamagotchis mate, the babies the female gives birth to are twins of the same sex. They WON'T give birth to one boy one girl. Each generation though, whether you have two boys or two girls, now THAT is random.
