Aw, this is so sad...The Osuchi/Mesuchi discipline animation shows them getting hit with (what looks to be) a hammer! And then they cry afterwards :D

Sorry for the bad quality, but I had to take the pictures right after I pushed the button, and the animation doesn't last very long. Think it could possibly be something else? (the "hammer" moves back and forth when the tama is disciplined.)

Hm, someone just told me that I could have a prototype/unreleased version, as the normal mesu/osu wasn't supposed to have the hammer. Interesting.

This is the pair you bought from me right? I will compair them to my "old" tamagotchi pair, it would be so cool if the programming is different. But it's also a bit weird, lol.

Oh my, i'm so excited! I just checked the manual from an old Mesuchi and that from the other one (like you've got). They are different! The one I bought from Jason's store didn't show a picture of the hammer in the manual and the other one i've got does! Wow, now they'll probably be worth something more, cool!

Wow! Sounds cool. I would love to have a pair of those in my collection. Where did you get them?

I checked the two different ones myself and the regular one just gets yelled at or something. The "special" one gets hit with the hammer though, wow I haven't seen this before. Thank you for pointing it out to me, I hadn't started one up yet ^_^

I took a picture on the left the regular one that intsantly gets mad when being disciplined. On the right the "prototype" where the kid gets hit with a hammer first.

There's another difference the "prototype" version gets an injection when you want to cure him, I'm not exactly sure what the regular type got, but it wasn't an injection.

Thank you for the picture, it's much clearer than mine!

Also, thanks again for selling them to me. And what a nice surprise that they turned out to be special. Definitely made my week...no, my month, that's for sure :] Although it is pretty sad to see them get hit by the hammer :)

I heard that the early version (hammer version) also shows the two tamagotchis in a bed when they mate. Here's a picture of the package:

I can't wait!

I'm glad the Osuchi and Mesuchi found a great home with you ^_^

This discovery made my day/week/month too, I'm so excited! I'm showing the differences to my sweetie the whole time, he must be thinking I'm crazy! Actually it's a bit sad they get hit by a hammer or get injections, but it makes it more special too. I really treasure this pair *love*

You are right about the package, the back card from my other one is different. It would be so funny if they mated in a bed, I'm curious too!

Oh, and I read that the hammer version is a pre-release...only 1440 pairs made. Here's the website:

(do a search (ctrl+f) for the word "hammer" and you'll be in the right section)
Wow, thank you for the article. That explains everything. Oh my I had 10 pairs of the 1440 special ones (o_O). This is awesome, I still have 5 pairs left, but I think they'll rise a bit in their price now... I'll keep two pairs to myself *evilgrin* like I planned.

Haha, I told my boyfriend about it and he was like "oh...ok, that's nice." ;P I don't think he cares for tamagotchis much, but at least I can talk about them with everyone here :)

Oh yeah, and I'm sure you could get a fair sum of money for one of the special pairs. Collectors definitely go for things like that. And, of course, you MUST keep some for yourself...just because!

Oh totally neat-O!

That was also the first appearance of the matchmaker. :)

So the matchmaker (Mrs. Busybody) is NOT a new character.

I had no idea. ^_^

Yeah, I didn't know she was in Osu/Mesu until I read that site. I'll try to take pictures when they mate and see if she shows up :D

Aww, I checked all of my Osu / Mesu pairs yesterday and I don't have that kind.

I did keep the clear green and orange pair going though. ^_^

I scanned the manual and it looks like both ms busybody and ojitchi appear! This is so nice, i have no clue why they left them out in the later versions.
Yep, my manual shows that as well :] But as I said in another thread, I think the sound on both of mine is messed up...It sounds all raspy and loud and annoying now, like when I play games and stuff :\

Edit: I've found that my blue sounds relatively normal now*, and my pink only sounds raspy during a game if I hold it at a certain angle. Unfortunately, I know very little about small electronics, so I'd most certainly not like to prod around inside...but I think I might try loosening or tightening the back screws a hair to see if that makes a difference.

Edit 2: Nope, scratch that, blue is making it again, this time whenever I push a button. I'm pretty sure tightening the screws will fix both, but my screwdriver here is a touch too big (argh.) Thankfully I'll be going home tonight, so I'll try it there.

Be sure to get yourself the right size of screwdrivers, it comes in so handy when you collect tamagotchi's! you can see a picture of it on Tamenagerie

It might be that the sound of the protoype version is a bit more clear, mine sounds a little louder too (but not annoying though).

I think that only the pink and blue versions could be special. Only 1440 pairs were made of the "test" version, so I'm very happy to get them. I didn't even know they existed!

Yeah, I've got a set like that at home somewhere ;] If tightening the screws doesn't help, I'll try resetting.

I've recorded the sound of my pink unit, but if you'd like to listen to it you'll probably have to turn your volume up (my good microphone is at home, too.) Also, sorry it's a .wav, but my mp3 converter made it sound really weird, and I have to leave for class soon, so I'll mess with it later.
