Tab thing you have to pull out

You guys know the thing that you have to pull out from the side of your tamagotchi when you first 'start'?? well, i have a question about it:

my friend tells me that when you pull out the tab, and then later, if you stick (put) it back in, it is bad for your tamagotchi. is this true?? It probably is because it 'starts' your tamagotchi up, but i still want some answers!! or two.

When I'm done playing with a tama, I always tab it back up. Well, if I know I won't be playing with it for 6 months or more, I might take the batteries out. But I keep my packages and tabs so I can put them away again.

i've never done that but that question was always in the back of my mind................
