u highlight all your writing including the smiley's then at the top there is 3 box's one says colour in it click on the aro and there will be a slection of colors if u click on purple your writing will go purple etc!

Actually it's more like this:

[COLOR=purple]Your Text Here[/color]

And you can change 'purple' to whatever...
