When the matchmaker comes, if you have the sound turned ON, you will hear the same sound your tama makes when it calls for your attention.

When the matchmaker comes, press a button after you hear the sound. She will show you a possible mate. The screen will then say: "LOVE?", with "YES" or "NO" below that. If you want that mate, choose "YES". If you don't want it, choose "NO". You can always change the time to one minute before she showed up. Do that and she will show up again! You can do this as often as you want until she brings a mate that you want.
