The manual explains how to turn the sound off and, if you have a Connection, how to pause it...Press A and B to pause; A and C to turn off the sound. If you have a Connexion, you can only pause it by Setting the clock. Take the batteries out or put the plastic tab back in if you do not want to play with it anymore (you can "reset" to the tamagotchi you were raising if you wish to do so.)
