They can go before they go to sleep or after but never while they are sleeping.

It can't go during "bed time", but it can appear if you leave it there.

My tama always poops before he sleeps its annoying coz i have to wait till he wakes up to clean it

mine barely every takes a poo, it never does it before it sleeps, he normally does it out of no where lol.

sometimes toddlers take naps. if they poop while awake before they nap, it might seem like they went while asleep.
