A bit ago, my Hanatchi ran out of batteries after connecting, which brings up my question since my sisters Tama is yet to run out of batteries...

If the battery goes blank while the fireworks are going off, or before they get the baby, will my sister still have the baby when she changes the battery?

Good question -

I have noticed that when the batteries are low, your Tama just won't connect (this has happened to me on two different Tamas now), so I think it probably wouldn't die in the middle of the fireworks!

When you've changed the battery and hit the Download button to get your old Tama back on screen (instead of the egg), it re-appears as it was just before the last major event ... evolving, connecting, etc.

I changed the battery in my V1 the other day and when I downloaded it it was sick and dying!

I realised that shortly before the batteries needed changing, it WAS sick and dying - but I had fed it up and gave it snacks and medicine to cure it. Then the battery failed.

But, you see, feeding it wasn't a major event; being sick and empty on hungry/happy hearts WAS! So when I hit the download button it reset itself to that last major event. (Not sure if I'm explaining this clearly - hope you're following this...)

Best, etc.

So, if it should fail after connecting, it'll be after the baby was already to my sisters tama safe?

If so, thats a relief.

And one more question...

I thought that if you pressed the Reset button it'd bring up the Download/Reset menu. I noticed it didn't when I was changing the battery.

You have to press the B button when you see the egg, right?

Yes when it shows the eggs prees "B" and itll show reset and download. Just select Download and you will start back from where you left off.

Okay, thanks...

But before, run me through the steps again. Is it...

1: You see the Battery with an X on your screen.

2: Open up.

3: Remove battery.

4: Replace with new battery.

But, I dunno, do I need to press Reset after the Egg appears at all, or can I just press B and the download/reset comes over?

But still, are you even supposed to hit Reset at all after switching the battery? I recall B calling the time over when you first start it.

The question that puzzles me...

Must you hit reset after swapping the battery, or can you just press the button?
