I don't get it. A Tamagotchi P1 when it returns to Planet Tamagotchi, it shows an angel...saying its dead. But the instructions say it returns home. Is it just suppose to be an angel so it can "fly" back home? Or is it supposed to be dead? Or is it just depending on how you look at it?

I say it's dead and that the "returning"-part is for those who rather think that the Tamagotchis went home. But the angel is kinda hard to explain if you want to belive the Tama went home... :(

True, so true. I was thinkin' the reason it's an angel is cause' it "flew home". Just think, if all the Tamagotchis died, they would eventually become all dead; there would be no Tamas left...I thought BanDai might have thought about that. But it is simpler to say "it died" instead of "it returned to Tamagotchi Planet".

Well it sort of depends on what kind of tama it is. Bandai says it flys home but if so then why did they make Angelgotchi? Bandai's reasoning for making Angelgotchi is of coarse to make money and alot of kids were lost and confused when their Tamagotchi's died, so they made Angelgotchi witch does not die but goes to either tama heaven or tama hell. Key word being "died". However Bandai says the same thing for Tamagotchi Connection and if you have ever had your'e tama mate and have a babby and watched the parent go away at mid night on the second night and bawled your eyes out then you would see that it is clearly obvious that it is not dieing but leaving. So I personally believe that the tamas on P1 do die at the age of 22 and become an angelgotchi or devilgotchi and connections (if they have a babby and leave at the age age 8, I think it's 8) then they go to tama planet and die there at the age of 22. Yeah it's complicated.

Well, the best way to say why it happens is to read this. It's from the mouse house tamagotchi page and is very good for people who don't know why p1 tama's do that.

Wow. That's a good site and thereoy. I'm just gonna' say they return home 'cause thats what the instructions say.

maybe when u reset it it flys home but.......how does it become a tama again when it is already dead? :hitodetchi: :hitodetchi: :hitodetchi:

I've heard about them and played with my friend's sometimes but I've never had one. Still, I've seen the angel on pictures on the internet, but my friend has a P2 and they have a UFO when they die. Most people think that how tamas get back revived again is that when the old tama dies on Tamagotchi Planet.... oh, it's to hard to explain. I'll put it in number order:

1. The tama dies.

2. It starts to go back to Planet Tamagotchi.

3. Since the tamas on Planet Tamagotchi always catapult eggs to Earth with their catapult, a few eggs that are desired for your tama go into your tamagotchi.

4. The desired eggs get into the tama's infra-red connection and pass the dead tama on it's way out. The dead tama says "Please do Eenie Mennie Minie Mo and decide which egg goes into the tama. The rest of them will come back with me."

5. The eggs do what the dead tama tells them to do and one egg gets chosen.

6. Your egg shows up on the screen.

7. It's crack open.

8. You get your tama.

It doesn't quite work that way. They say that it takes a long time for the egg to come. But it all happens in a mili-second. That's so short! Well, even on the old tamas you don't have to press the reset button to revive them! You press A and C or just C or the reset button. It works every way!

The Japanese ones actually die.

The American, Europian, Australian etc.. did not die, because kids were afarid and sad because there Tamagotchi died. So they called it "Going back to hope planet".

I read somewhere that Japanese are very use the death, and can handle it better. ^_^

It's the same with the new Tamagotchis too. My Keitai dies, however my Connexion goes back t it's hope planet. :hitodetchi:

I like to say they returned. It's just better. Remember, Tamagotchis are supposed to be cyber creatures who came to earth to be your pet and see what earth is like; but they eventually get too old and weak to live on a planet that is not their own, therefore, they must return home if they want to live. Sorta like E.T.

Tamagotchi Life/Death

BanDai America said that Tamagotchis do not die, but return to their home planet, because Americans can't take the concept of death as well as the Japanese.

A Tamagotchi's death, though, is somewhat complicated.

P1/P2:

Tama dies by skull. It stands still on the screen, beeping as the skull flashes. It starts to slow down, then lays an egg and disappears. Afterward, you see the death screen. Note that on P2, the Tama dies in its bed.

Angel:

Although the Angelgotchi is technically already dead, it dies this way: Tama waves goodbye, floats up, then bursts into stars (in japanese version, it scrolls to screen that says "thanks!")

Ocean:

In japanese, it dies into an underwater tombstone. In US, a submarine appears, saying that the Tama decided to experience the ocean on its own.

Garden:

In japanese, dies into a little bush tombstone. US version unknown, since it was scrapped.

Mesu/Osu:

Dies P1 style, death screen is a graveyard (at night, two ghosts appear)

TamaOtchi:

Drives away in a limousine.

Yaasachi (SP?)

Unknown

Plus/Connexion/Connection:

Japanese die and become grave. US and Europan fly away in a little egg with wings.

Keitai/Akai/Hanerutchi

Same as Plus, but can have an "Advanced Angel Death" where 2 angels fly your Tama away and a fancy new grave appears.

Actually, only the P2 died in a spaceship. P1 died as an angel. Both died as a tombstone in Japan.

The akai, it has a angel that comes out of a gravestone.Okay, the angel is more like a ghost, but it freaks me out.\
