1) wht do u mean NAME it? like pick our the tama charaters name? YES.

2) Pause it by pressing 'B' and 'C' at the same time and it should say PAUSE at the bottom of the screen...

while your at school there are 2 things u could do....
1st-find out what time ur tama character goes to sleep (they go to sleep the SAME TIME each day)you can find out by finding charts ppl make. if u cant find 1 ill tell u but what tama do u have?K. u gotta set the clock to the time it goes to sleep,that way it will sleep while u r at school (they sleep for like 12 hours) this way is better than the 2nd caz it will GROW in its sleep.
2nd- pause it. thats all. But YOUR TAMA CANNOT GROW. my sister puts hers on pause all the tome. shes had a generation for 2 monthes and its only 2 years old.

while im at school, i turn off the sound and play with it at lunch, and just check on it inbtween classes. i hope this helps
Take my advice.
DONT TAKE YOUR TAMAGOTCHI TO SCHOOL.
You never know when someone may steal it.
And the questions;
Yes, just wait until the mother leaves her child, then it will say
"Name?" then you fill it out && stuff.
And pause it ;P
