Right know it looks like a ball with a bump on it's head, and legs. It is 5 and only a teenager. My aunt gave it to me just because she saw me playing with a v2, and she is nice. Although it doesn't have infa red connection, it is still good.

The only Virtual Pet I have that's close to the age of your Tama and is still working is my Orange Doggy Giga-Pet. XD

I got a 1997 tama from my friend's boyfriend a few days ago, but it needs new batteries and I can't find a small enough screw driver to unscrew the back. x.x I might take it to a jewelers that sells watches and see if they can get it open.

Your Lucky Your Aunt gave You That......I couldn't believe it. All I had to do was show her my v2 and she gave me her old TAMAGOTHI!So far it is 5 years old and barely a teenager.

Do you have a digital camera? That will make it easier. Take a picture and then upload it onto the computer. If you don't know how, ask your parents if they know. If it's anything like mine, the camera came with a USB cord that can be plugged into the computer.I'm just ten , I don't know how to put a picture of it on the computer...
Once you have your picture(s) uploaded to your PC, you need to upload it to an image hosting site like www.photobucket.com.
Once you have that uploaded, you'll see there are three different text boxes under the picture. The boxes should say something like, "URL, <img>,
If you want to post pictures here,
Highlight and copy the URL text. Then in your post click on the 'https://' box (above the text space) and paste the URL text into the box that pops up. Click 'OK' and then add a name to the image you're using and click 'OK' again.
Then post normally and the image should show up in a link.

*grins* sorry, I wasn't being clear enough when I posted that comment about seeing the differences....
what I really meant was that I'd like to hold a 97 tama, play with it for a few days, just to compare it with the V1/V2s... I have seen pix of the 97 tamas before.... but it's not the same as taking care of one for a while
By the way, if you want to find out more about the 97 tamas, I think these web sites might be helpful:
