How to use the "Items"

Hi, I am Jacob's mother. Jacob is my 8 year old son who got a Tamagotchi for Christmas. I have helped him figure out most of the stuff on this thing but we can't figure out how to use the items. We can give the Tamagotchi the "ball" and it plays with it for a few seconds and then it stops. We can't use any of the other things (hairgel, honey, stuffed animal, or costume). If we click on those items it just beeps. Is there something special we should do to get it to use those items?

Also, the "training bars" - we only have one bar. Is there a way to get more? How long does it take to fill that bar up?

Also, I have seen on some websites favorite foods and foods they hate. How do we get each favorite? We have limited items in the shop to purchase - how do we get more?

Also, when he is gone to school it is on all day and then he came home today and freaked out cause it was sick and I should have fed it. Can he pause it while he is at school? Sorry to ask so many questions but I already have 2 kids and now I have to worry about this Tamagotchi too!!!

Any other insight you can provide us would be appreciated.

You can only use those items when your Tamagotchi is a Adult.

Growth Chart:

Baby to Child: 1 hour

Child to Teen: 1 day

Teen to Adult:5 days

To boost up your training, make sure you treat your Tamagotchi well. If it sends a unexpected present to a friend, disipline it.

To pause your Tamagotchi, hold down the first 2 buttons. To unpause, do that again

to make groth go on regular basis try not to pause it to much.

Thank you both for your help. I have another question. The thing is now older and we gave it the stuffed animal. Now it is gone from our list and it appears that it played with it for a minute but now I don't see it any more. We also put the costume on it but how do we take it off???? Thanks again.
