My friend got me two of the original Tamagotchis for the holiday, and claims that they are the first ever generation. I have been curious tho as to what generation they really are. One is a clear green, with blue buttons w/ a ball chain, and the other is a yellow with an orange border w/ a linked chain. If anyone can help me, feel free to respond. It is odd, the green one works faster than the yellow and the sound is louder on the green?!? But they are fun! Oh, and anyone know some tips on how to play the game. My first tama game had #s and you had to guess if the # shown was larger or smaller than the # the Tama. was thinking of. These tamagotchis (the green and orange) have you guess a direction... and I am so bad at it! Thanks!

unfortunatly those aren't the first generation...i believe the second and third generation you have. the green is second and the other is third. i have the yellow with tiger stripes and it has the game with numbers. i personally think it's soooooo easy! i've never played the directional game...so i couldn't help there. cool tamagotchis btw!

Hi 'm new here.

My Questions are:

1.Can you debug a original Tamagotchi?

2.How old can they live up to?:huh

3.What is the last stage? :(

What is on the growth chart for the original Tamagotchi? ^_^

All these are questions are for the original tamagotchi.

WHOA. Hold up, wait a minute. Me- being the expert that I am on the first tamagotchis can tell you that you have a generation 1 and 2 respectively. i have NEVER heard of a generation 3, the connections are generation 3 but no one calls them that. <_<

Let's see, it sounds though like you have one first gen and one second gen though.

If the backgrounds are different, then the generations are different.

The first gen had a checkerboard background

and second gen had swirly background.

Take a look there,

The generations are separated on their own pages.

Thanx a lot for that site... It looks like my 2 new ones are Gen. 1 tamagotchis. That is good to know, and I knew my Black one was a Gen. T. My brother had the Gen. t Half black and half orange until he got water in it somehow and he eventually lost it... LOL!

Earliyer up the top, you say you want to some tips...Well, KAT has heaps of tips on getting each speiceies. They seem to work for me!! Go to www.mimitchi.com

Click on Tamagotchi Tips on the navigation bar.

yes gen1 has checkerboard backgrounds, and gen2 has the swirly one. the gen1s have ball chains, and the gen2s have a keyring. the gen1 has the arrow game, and the gen 2 has the number game (sorta like blackjack lol).

and there is no such thing as a gen3 original tamagotchi. i dont think the originals are debuggable either.

1. i dont think original tamagotchis are debuggable as far as i know.

2. it depends how well you take care of it. i had one back in the day that lived up to 42.

3. the last stage for the original is the adult. and then it dies or "returns to home planet" (to me, i think it doesn't make a difference since the animation is the same lol) and then you reset and play with it all over again.
