How do you get the other secret characters? I think it has something to do with debugging, but I don't know. What's the whole deal, including how to debug (if this is the answer)? Please help!!!

Debugging is really no big deal. You're just afraid to try.
I'm comfortable with opening and tinkering.
Pencil lead is carbon. The carbon reacts with teh debug spot. So all you have to do is draw a little on the debug spot with the pencil lead. Super easy.
To de-debug, just erase that spot and you're back to normal, though I don't know why any one would want to go back. I really like mine debugged quite a lot. :D

Also, the hamburger guy is programmed in to the American tamagotchis.
I have pictures here.
My site :0)

A lot of those are not secret characters, but unlockable visitors. You can not get those characters by playing and hoping to get them.
Kind of a bummer but that's just the way it is. :D

Sure, debugging works great. You just have to be brave enough to give it a try. ;)
It worked just fine (eventually) on the ones I tried to do.
I did an American and a Japanese one. :D
