I think it's going for a major overhaul, thus they won't let us gain access to the site.

Bandai says they'll open at the end of January, so I'm thinking next week. The v3's aren't supposed to be out until Feb and the new DS game is out on January 31st. It should be working any day now...

The site is real.

Bandai is still working on it.

TamaTown was open a few days ago if you missed it.

The site isn't fully released till the end of January.
