I have an original tama, i'm not sure if its gen 1 or 2, but it is genuine, as it's my second original (from 1997) and it is black on top half of the front, orange on the botton with the white word 'Tamagotchi' on the top, and white buttons and screen edge. I ordered it off ebay from thehillers. Why is it dual colored?

No reason it's two colored. There was that one, a red and green one too.

Sometimes those were called the Halloween and Christmas colors.

There were a LOT of differeent P1 and P2 designs.

Oh, yours is a Gen2. I have that one also. I have a picture of most of my Gen2's on this page :kuribotchi: .

 
Nah, not really. Some people might pay more for those holiday colored ones but it's not a special edition or anything. It game in a mixed case with all the other tamas.
