Tamagotchi Tips and Tricks

On any Tamagotchi, hold C, B and A, then push Reset. The screen will turn black and all the icons will be lit. Press A, then B and then C and watch the screen each time. Then press A and the version number will show. Then press B to do Rom Test. When 'Rom OK' appears and you are holding any Connexion Tamagotchi, press A to go to the Standby screen. Connect as normal. Version 2s and 3s must choose Ver 1 or Others to connect. The Tamagotchi connecting will be an egg.

I have heard that pulling the tab in and out will make funny pictures appear. However, don't try this if you are worried about breaking your Tamagotchi.

Debugging is a trick for Connection or Plus NOT Connexion. See other threads for details.

Connexion v1

There are no codes for Connexion v1, so try those above.

Connexion v2

There are five shop codes that may be redeemed after going to the shopkeeper and pushing A three times fast. Without entering the shop. The codes may be somewhere on Tamatalk still. There is a code in the game at tamagotchi.com, and playing the game at https://www.neopets.com/games/tamagotchi/game2.phtml will give you a code. Highlight the text below for a spoiler. If it works, that is.

There are seven shop codes. I either don't know them and wish I could tell you, or I know them and I don't want to tell you. Check out some other threads for the codes.

Going to Password in the Activity menu will enable you to input an item code that you have found on Tamatown.com. Passwords are based on the username you chose, so don't try and tell people stuff like, "The code for the ring that you get from the king is 7314613456" or whatever.

There is also one code that you can get from the Nintendo DS Tamagotchi game, but the game isn't sold where I live.

I have a question. If you do the ROM Test, will you be able to get the same character and the stuff back???
