Does anyone here know if you can use the souvenirs? Or are they mainly for collecting?

Yup, only collections. There's nothing we can do....
But we will be able to buy new series of Tamagotchi, probably few months from here.

Souvenirs do do something. I mean they only sit in the Souvenir list and look pretty. That's kinda useful if you like to lie back and look at something.
