Okay, since this just happened to my sisters Tamas, I'll let you all in on it, so you don't screw up too. This happened on a V2.
Don't let the battery go bad while it's on the screen after your baby wakes up after the parent leaves (where the baby is shown crying with the gender displayed below it).
If it does, and you start it from Download again...well...
Since it starts from the last major event (Waking up, going to sleep, etc), your Tama will be a baby, but have all the statistics of your last tama (name and everything), and will evolve one minute after into a kid.
We've yet to wake them up, but they will probably keep evolving and turn old.
This will probably end your generation (as the Tamas will turn old and probably die), so make sure you start them as babies, feed them full, and PAUSE them if you're going to leave your Tamas for a while!
