No you can't sell iteams.
Now taining bar: you have to play games for a while ya know exercise it, them some time later you will here you tama beep, if it has its back to you, you need to praise it, if it doesn't and its still floating around the screen then you should punish it.

You get the training meter up by praising the tama when it's crying or has it's back turned to you with a puffy little thinking cloud next to it's head (cause it's cranky).
You punish it only if it's hunger meter isn't full, and you give it some food (because you know it's hungry) but it refuses to eat it. Doesn't happen very often though. Make sure you don't punish it if it doesn't eat because it's sick though!
