2 questions

I just got a new p1(aka gen1). It hasn't even been 1 day and it is 2yrs old why is that? And how long will it take to change again? Right now I have a marutchi. Also one more thing when I change the batteries can I pick up where I left off just like the connections?

Well, to answer your first question, every time your Tamagotchi P1 falls asleep, when it wakes up it will be one year older. It should change again by age 3 or 4. <_<

 

For your second question, you can't pick up where you left off once you change the batteries; you lose your poor Tama and have to start over.

I had my P1 up and running recently, and of course, the batteries started to go out. I found out that if you take the batteries out and get the new ones in really fast (like within a few seconds) that you can pick up right where you left off. you just have to be fast and ready to go. I suggest changing one battery at a time (there are 2 of course) and making shure that the batteries that are in while the back cover is off always touch the connectors (the silver bar/plate looking thing) this worked for me!

Tamlover is talking about an original P1. that is the tama made in '96-'97, not a connection V1. A P1/P2 only has one game each, and only a few characters. Also does not have the "download" feature of the connections.
