Tamagotchi Won't Play!!

Well, I finally got the US version of the Tamagotchi from the Metreon today, and it was just born. For some reason, it only wants to play sometimes and I'm wondering why that is...The instructions say to only discipline it when it beeps unnecessarily or when it wont EAT when its hungry. it doesn't say anything about punishing it when it wont play...any help is appreciated! thanks!

The reason your Tamagotchi might not want to play is because it is underweight and playing games might make it lose even more. Try giving your Tama some snacks. That will cheer him/her up, but don't give them too many. You wouldn't want your Tama to get a toothache or cavities, would you?

oh! well Lozzie's reply explains why mine started playing again after I gave it a snack!

thanks so much for the help! i looked through the boards to search for similar posts but i didn't come across any...sorry if this is the thousandth time it's been answered!

just a follow up question tho, if the Tama needs to be played with in order to be happy, do you always have to feed it a snack or a meal before you can actually get him/her to be active? its weird because the original tama could be played with at any time, no matter if it was hungry or not, so this caught me off guard. If you feed it snacks often, will it get sick more often as well? Thanks again!!

No, only if its under weight. It'll play freely if its JUST over (but not to much LOL!), but if it does refuse just feed it a snack... If it does get sick just nurse it back to health!

omgosh i had the same problem!!! i was starting to like the old tama better cuz it'll play games whenever you want. oh yeah if my tama is a boy will it have boy babies and will it be a boy even if i reset it?

ya know, i had a boy and when i reset mine, it was a boy again. that may have been just because of luck tho

How do you know if your Tama is underweight? Mine NEVER wants to play a game...and when it does, it will only play until it wins. I was thinking mine was overweight because I feed it so often, haha. But, if it doesn't play when it is underweight...I was thinking now, that perhaps it is. If anyone knows, that'd be awesome if you could tell me!

another reason your tama wont play is either that it has bad charecter or is not in the mood, or feels overstressed. i thinK!

If you reset it, it could be a boy or a girl. It's just luck of the draw. ^_^
