ULTIMATE tips for beginners

Just entered the new world of tamagotchi? Here are some tips:

Before you buy one, check it is real, if you are unsure, post it up here and someone will be sure to tell you if it's a fake

NEVER try to do somthing you don't understand to your tamagotchi, e.g debugging. Although it is treated lightly, it is a very serious matter and could harm both you and your tama.

Buy a tama in your region to start with. If you start of with a Japanese one, you will find it even harder!

Keep the instruction booklet with you at all times. It's surpirising how many questions that thing can answer!

Always ask for help if you are stuck on somthing. Lots of people on Tama Talk are willing to help

Don't buy off ebay to start with. This can bring lots of complications.

Wait until you are a bit more experienced with tamas until you try somthing like secret codes. Keep it simple to start with.

Print out a character chart (can be found here on Tama Talk) and keep a record of which characters you get

Ok. Here are some more:

-Don't worry about having a lot of points and items. Just play games to keep your tama happy.

-If you want to keep your tama safe, don't give it to anyone to take care of unless you really trust them.

-Don't let your tama get wet.

-Ecept your tama for who it is. Don't worry what character you get.

Good tips tulip Here are some more:

Get your friends to hatch their tamas at the same time as you, so then you can share your experiences and learn from them

Try not to feed your tama too many snacks, try playing games instead

If a symbol appears on the screen which is a battery with a big corss through it, it means it needs a new battery

When you are not playing with your tama for a while, take the battery out to save money

Turn the sound off at school to avoid getting it taken away

Try not to take it to school and leave it at home, then attend to it as soon as you get home

If you have a big test or exam coming up, don't play with your tama. It will probly distract you from your work.

i have some too

- never let an inafant or baby touch your tama, my friend had a button pulled out because of a baby

- never forget your tama at home when you leave, i forgot mine and i went out for 2 or 3 hours and it got sick, had a couple piles of poop and it was empty on all hearts

- check if your tama is made by bandai, the red logo could say JD which is fake

- if you want to debug try it on a fake tama so you dont risk breaking a real one, or ask for help on how to debug

There are rumors of more codes than the original 5, but there can't be.

Here are some did-you-know's:

Furawatchi didn't get get taken away from the Tamagotchi Charecter chart - it just got changed.

On Ver.2, put a Furawatchi on a throne, and it will turn into a Cho Himetchi.

To pause a Ver.1, go to time, and press A button, and C button, just like you would to change the time, and let the dates flash.

Here is how to get a secret charecter:

You must get Tarakotchi and make it 16 years old, so it becomes an old person. Make the old person get married to a Robotchi/Anderotchi (robot) and the baby will grow up to be:

The head of a Maskitchi and Body of a Mimitchi! This isnt confirmed that it works yet, but its a rumor.

More tips about debugging:

Ask your parents before you try it, they may not buy you another!

If you seriously want to try it, have an adult with you

Check if the source you are getting it from is reliable

If you do debugging you will harm your tama's case

The case will never look the same again

It may harm you, but it is unlikely

You may regret it after

It could go wrong and completely wreck your tama!

One thing - To make sure it is real :: NO TAMAGOTCHIS HAVE A B or C WRITTEN ON THEIR BUTTONS (That I know of).

They generally have smaller screens

A lot of the cheap ones don't have a protective screen

The packaging will probly have mispelt words on

The Bandai logo will be missing

This generation ( 13 + 6) My tamagotchis aren't doing anything naughty so they won't get training points

lol! Are they even being good? Or are they just trying to be annoying and not being either good or bad?

Sometimes I wish my tamas would be bad! But they end up with full training, somehow. I have more tips:

- A fake tamagotchi might have different characters. If your tama's character is not on any chart and no one has had it, it is a sighn of a fake tama.

- Tamagotchis can't connect in direct sunlight.

- Don't let anyone who mistreats there tamagotchi play with yours. (Poor Moon got two time-outs because I made this mistake )

- If this is your first time with a tamagotchi, read the instuctions. (A story on why you should do this: When I started my V3, I didn't know about the usernames. The first thought that came into my head when I saw username was Mary. Now I have a username that has nothing to do with me!)

- Don't try to force tamas into marrige by connecting them alot. They get four heart, but they don't have babys unless they really love each other, witch is cute..

- When your baby is young, whatch it very carefully they can loose two hearts in one minute! Don't worry, it's only for one hour.
