confused!

My daughter is desperate for a tamagotchi, all her friends have them and she wants to keep upi.... you know how it is.  

Well we both like the designs the version 3 tamis come in, but I am not sure about their connection capabilities.

 

Her friends all have version 1s and 2s, (no arials) and I am worried a v3 will not be compatible.

 

Does anyone out there know if you can connect a v1/2 to a v3???

All you have to do Is: On v3 select 'other' for connecting and on v2 select 'version 1' then stand by comes, position the 2 tama's and press 'b'. the same for connecting to 'version 1' but you just press 'b' on 'stand by' on the version one.
