Probably a glitch. I haven't heard about it before, but I think it is. A good idea would probably be to take the battery out and put it back in. If that doesn't works, I don't know what to do.

well, the only way to tell if it is an adult is if it evolved 2 times, it is an adult. (starting off as a baby doesnt count as evolving) and so i think it only works if you are an adult. (mine usually doesnt evolve into a adult until it is 4)
