When you get a new generation, the souvenirs you 'won' on Tama Town will go with the adult tama when they leave, so you have to re-visit Tama with your 'new' character and win them again.

I suppose it's just a way of keeping us logging on to Tama Town rather than not bothering once our souvenirs are full up.

All the souviners you get from the arcade go when you move on to the next generation (except the trophy you get from the arcade. I don't know why so don't ask me why). It's perfectly normal so don't panic.
